    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

Birthday Bios: Ice Cream · 3:22pm Dec 30th, 2016

At last, we have reached the final Bio of the year! And she’s a Sandwich cousin!

I have to say, these things kept me busy and gave me a crazy schedule. There were moments where I feared that I wouldn’t make a date because of whatever real life thing came my way, but I found a way. I have moved things around because of either a conflict with a vacation of mine or I got sick and had my energy sapped, but I got to do the OCs I wanted to expand upon, and I now have a reference for anyone that wants to know or for using any of them in a story.

And now, without further ado, we shall delve into the tale of Ice Cream Sandwich.

Ice Cream Sandwich was born in Manehattan to Acorn Compound and Cocoa Butter, and was introduced to her five-year-old older brother Peanut Butter. The latter was not very fond of her, due to jealousy over the attention she got. Little Creamy just couldn’t win her brother over with her sweet and innocent nature. She got along with cousin Cheese Sandwich (who was just a couple months older than her) much better.

When visiting a farm outside the city once, Creamy developed a strange fascination of cows. Nopony knows why, though Cocoa always suspected that it had something to do with the little filly being a major milk-aholic. Though, it didn’t help that she found “moo” to be hilarious. In any case, she was a little too happy with her birthday present of a toy cow.

She also enjoyed cool weather. She had always felt more comfortable in cool environments, and she was more willing to go outside if it was snowing. She liked to eat snow—though that one time tasting yellow snow was not all that fun for her.

Unlike Peanut Butter, who thrived on attention, Creamy was okay with not having much at all. At most, she’d like someone to ramble on about cow facts to, or maybe try to break into the fridge to get some of her delicious namesake. She couldn’t break into her parents’ lab to try chemistry—after Peanut Butter caused something in there, they weren’t about to let him or their other foal get in until they were old enough to understand proper procedure. So, most of her experiments were things in the kitchen, mainly creating some bizarre ice cream sundae.

From time to time, her family would be visiting her cousins’ house, and she’d play with them there. Cheese was pretty nice, though hurting his baby brother Tomato was bound to tick him off. Plus, sometimes Peanut Butter was mean to them, and the adults always seemed to argue whenever they talked. There was solemnness when their shared grandparents had died a few weeks apart, but most of the time, the kids opted to stay away from the firestorm—though sometimes, they’d fight over whose parents started it.

She was around seven when one last fight made her parents move the family across the country. Though she was sad to say goodbye to cousin Cheese (Tomato was a little annoying at that time), she really hoped they moved somewhere in the countryside with lots of cattle for her to befriend. A nice thought, but Seaddle’s not exactly countryside. There were farms out there for class field trips, but she wanted a lifestyle with a daily visit to them. Peanut Butter thought she was weird.

She was a quiet, nerdy girl during her school years—her chemistry professor parents won’t allow her to be dumb. She had interest in the sciences, especially in the area of agriculture. She also liked to make a good treat, and once made homemade ice cream for a class party. Making the treat was what earned her a cutie mark, and she was satisfied that it suited her so well.

Even though she was pretty happy, she did get a bit frustrated with her parents’ eccentricities (especially her fathers), and the fact that they caused explosions half the time. She has had to redo homework because an experiment went awry and destroyed it. She has lost count of how many times she has used the excuse, “My parents blew up my homework.”

However, she still didn’t really find other ponies all that interesting. Quite frankly, she was the subject of a lot of gossip, especially during trips to the farm where she’d talk with the cattle. At grade-school age, it was mostly jokes about how she’d marry a cow… and during adolescence, the gossip became just a little more lewd. With stuff like that being said about her, why would she want to associate with folks who spread lies? Dating was a bit of a hassle, since it was usually guys that wanted to prove themselves “different” and “brave” for dating a weird filly that just so happened to be beautiful.

Thankfully, big brother Peanut had matured from picking on Creamy, and instead went about defending her from those seeking to humiliate or use her. Not only that, he went about spending time with her like a friend, even going so far as to venture out of town with her to visit some of her cow friends. They’d participate in games during holidays (though tragically they ended up losing Creamy’s toy cow in the lake during a boat race), and go out for treats, exchanging jokes all the while.

After Peanut moved out and started pursuing professional sports, Creamy just went on with her life, though she was happy to visit her brother from time to time. She attended college for dairy science, studying her butt off to achieve her goals. Though it’d take a couple more years to get a job in her field, she did enjoy having a short employment at the local ice cream shop.

At some point during her college years, she got a surprise visit from cousin Cheese Sandwich. Her mind was boggled on seeing that her mild-mannered cousin had grown up into a party pony, but, they were happy to catch up. She was also surprised that apparently, Cheese was holding a grudge against his family, including Tomato (who he used to be super protective of), but thought better than to press further. She wondered if the party pony schtick was a form of rebellion that turned out to be his talent.

After some time, she finally got a job in the town of Sorrelsteed, at the mouth of the beautiful Sorrel Canyon. She got to meet like-minded ponies who understood her love of all things dairy and cows, and befriended the many cows that provided the milk and did other jobs there. Though on occasion the Canyon makes weird noises, Creamy thinks the town is kind of nice.

Shortly after her employment at the dairy farm, she at last got to see Tomato Sandwich again, after Cheese had made up with him. It took a bit for her to hear the story of how the whole thing started, but once she did, she understood. Though, it’s more surprising for her to see that the once hyperactive Tomato had grown up into a grumpy business student.

She was always one to take things kind of slow, and she never really cared to aim for anything big. All she ever wanted to do was make milk products and befriend cows, and that is pretty much what she’s doing. A simple mare living a simple life, and that is just the way she likes it.

Interesting. I hope the brothers see her together.

I kind of hope she does end up marrying a cow. In Equestria, I don't really think there's anything wrong with that, and it would certainly be interesting.

Interesting. I hope the brothers see her together.

If this sentence means what I think it means (because for some reason, I'm having a bit of trouble interpreting that), then they already have. They passed by the farm she works at and met up with her in Chapter 16.2 in BBT.

4362283 Ok, thanks. My memories kind of weak, I appreciate the reminder.
