The Passing of an Icon (Rest in peace, Carrie Fisher) · 6:19pm Dec 28th, 2016

I don't usually make these kinds of blogs detailing the death of a famous actor or person, but this is different.

Yesterday (December 27th 2016) at 8:55 a.m. in Los Angeles, famous actress Carrie Fisher passed away of cardiac arrest just fifteen minutes before her plane touched down four days prior. For those who don't know, Carrie played Princess Leia from Star Wars, a character and movie, respectively, that are beyond important to me. This woman was just incredible: she knew how and when to be funny, she knew how and when to dramatic and most importantly she knew how to entertain us for years to come; she was just so amazing at what she did. Just one watch of any (most) of her performances can tell you that.

There's just so much I want to say about her yet I can't find the words to describe just how amazing she was. But I believe the reason I wanted to make this blog in memory of Carrie was because a thought occurred to me: Carrie was one of my childhood icons, and now she's gone. She played one of my favorite characters from literally my favorite movie franchise and now that she's gone I just feel... incomplete.

I know I have to suck it up and move on, but this is still a big thing right now. Carrie Fisher, the woman who has brought us entertainment and joy throughout the years, has passed away; really think about that. Someone who you knew and enjoyed is now gone. I know that this can never truly compare to a family member passing away, but I still feel sad about it. And I know there are others out there like me who share my thoughts and feelings on the matter.

Carrie, wherever you may be now, I hope you rest in peace.

I remember when I was little, I wanted to be exactly like her when I grew up. :pinkiesad2:

She is one with the Force now. She will be remembered.
