Fanfic review: The Lion King Adventures Season 1 · 5:37am Dec 26th, 2016

Today I’m going to review, The Lion King Adventures by ThatPersonYouMightKnow. Now this fanfic is a a bit different from others I review in the past, because the author decide to make the series in five different series or seasons as the author calls them. That takes place in alternate universe. For this review we going to look at series 1 of this series.

So the story doesn’t follow the plot of the movie but the characters are surprisedly in character. But still there wizards, psychopath, and just plain creepy creatures in this universe. So take it what you will.

So yeah this series can get a little dark at times. In fact later one the series it can turn into pure nightmare fuel at times but balance itself with good humor and light-hearted moments as well. But in series one it’s not so bad…until a certain part at the end.

So let’s talk about some good stuff about series one: Simba and Nala do act like their movies counterpart and do act like little kids. Scar really more crazy to his movie counterpart and therefore a more evil and..sometimes more scaredy. The OCs in this are very well written and just fun to read. The author said that was fan of slap-stick humor and it certain shows in his writing because there almost in every story he made. But when the needs to serious or dark it can be really do so.

Bu here the problem with season 1 there a couple of really weird mood whiplash moments in the story. One second we could funny scene and then sudden someone’s throat is ripped out, and it’s not funny. Which I think is the only problem I have with this fanfiction actually.

This one of mine favorite fanfictions but it’s not for everybody. If don’t like fanfic that are dark, weird mood whiplash scenes, or humor that you might not like. But I say give it a shot.
