Hello and welcome to my second Fandom Music Friday! Today's entry is Snowdrop's Lullaby by SFS Animation, formerly Silly Filly Studios. Recent changes to YouTube have caused SFS to create a second account on vid.me. Already, they have uploaded Snowdrop and Fall of the Crystal Empire at the time of this blog post. It is my understanding that they are no longer doing pony animations, but even so, if you have a vid.me, go show them some love and upvote at least their pony-related animations.
I found SFS's Snowdrop animation pretty early in my experience with the fandom, and I'm not going to lie, I cried. Judging by the comments section, I was far from the only one. Recently, though, (last semester, to be precise) I've taken the moral to heart. In high school, grades always came easily for me, so college was a pretty big adjustment. The first couple of semesters were a bit rocky getting started, and I knew going into last semester that that was going to be the semester that determined if I would be continuing my education. Before the semester started, I, like Snowdrop, came to the conclusion that even though something or someone seems useless, it doesn't mean they are. You are not useless. You never know what you can do until you try. What are you passionate about? For me, it was writing. I'd always wanted to write fanfiction, even when I was little. (I didn't have a name for it back then, let alone know it was a thing.) I started dabbling in fanfic on a serious level early this year. I kid you not, I'm a creative writing major today because of my experience with fanfiction. So go ahead; life is short. If there's something you want to do, give it a try! You might even find your special talent in the process.
Happy Hearth's Warming a few days in advance!
