After a pointless blog entry and all the drama surrounding my good friend Vanilla Mocha (click here for more), it's time to take a look at the most controversial character in the entire show.
Most of the information I've been collecting for this comes from these videos. I recommend you to watch them first. Think about them and try to process everything before you speak.
I tried to balance out the opinions on her, I've been watching both sides of the coin but I couldn't reach a satisfactory conclusion, all I can say is that a like or hate about a character is going to rely on perspective. I like Starlight Glimmer, in both villain and reform forms, but I can't deny the truth. In each of her appearances the ones who hate Starlight got vote: If they put her, they are pissed off because she’s used as a plot device (and most people feel offended just because of her reformation saying “the least she appears the better” [how are you supposed to give her a second chance if you don't want to see her?!]), but if she’s not used then she has no place in the show and is not necessary in the first place.
Starlight Glimmer is simply NOT a good character, and this has nothing to do with whether or not anyone hates her. Just because Starlight ‘fills the role left by pre-alicorn Twilight’, it does not her a good character. She needs her own arc and adventure to justify her appearance and for now, we don't have that. We just have to wait and see.
I know this was short but I think all the information I could handle and share has already been spoken.

Yeah i am mixed, on one hand i found her to be one of the best villains on the show, despite the fact her provocation was so poor, but then they had to reform her...
I always felt she was the show's answer for not being able to bring Sunset shimmer into the show, and to be frank Sunset always had the better set up.
one thing and one thing only: I can't stand Starlight Glimmer being Overhated. it makes me upset.
