IN WHICH THE ICE MELTED
So on Saturday, when I posted my latest story, we had freezing rain that turned my steep driveway into a sheet of black ice. It was completely gone today. There's a saying about my state: "If you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes and it'll change." Or this one I saw today: "Here's a toast to A*******… where 70ºF (21ºC) temperatures can only mean an apocalyptic ice storm is on the way." (that actually happened here in 2009)
Below the jump there be sorta-kinda-maybe spoiler things.
I've been doing more writing. Trying my best to get out a new Mayor's Break Time chapter before Christmas. The filename for the .rtf (which will not be the final title) is "Barf". I've also finally started on my Anon-A-Miss story that I outlined over a year ago. Its working title is Blooming Friendship. I'll let you figure out what each story is about.
Based on reader feedback, I've considered, though have not committed to do, two bonus chapters -- call them alternate alternate universe -- for Reconciliations. One would be "Pinkamena Diane Pie" and the other would be "Rainbow Dash But With Less Suck".
To be honest, I'm not entirely pleased with the Fluttershy chapter that everyone seemed to like. I reread it today and fixed a couple of errors, but a lot of it feels too rushed. The entire story is rushed as hell. It probably reads to you that I wanted it to be over with so I could move on. That's not entirely untrue, but I still tried to make it a good read; I just failed this time. Except for Fluttershy's part. I'm fine with the dialogue, even if the narration is 50% shit.
It's ultimately not a big deal about the Pinkie and Dash chapters. Dash could've done more but she helped set up for what came after. Pinkie not going all scary-pone works well enough, especially since this is the EqG world; their Pie family seems to live in a normal suburban house, and it's not hard to imagine other things could be different, too. She does at least get one moment where the mask seems to slip, but there isn't enough force to push her through to the other side, and that's OK.
Still, reading alternate takes could be interesting. Especially Pinkie.
That Fluttershy chapter, though... y'all leave that chapter be, y'hear? That's good stuff.
