Yes the book is used but meh.
It has all the pages and only the front and back covers are fucked up.

Maybe, Though I know next to nothing about call of cthulu myself. I'm actually in the process of creating my own adventure using the DC Adventures system, though it doesn't have anything to do with DC.

Really, the whole thing is supposed to be about discovering the mind melting eldritch mysteries that lie beyond the veil of our fragile human understanding. So not knowing a lot is a pretty good thing.
And I have found a PDF of the character sheet and reference pages so you don't have to worry about that.
Edit: Also, sweet.
I have no idea what that is. I'm an entry level nerd in this type of stuff.
