    A Long Overdue Sneak Peek. (Thank goodness this isn't a library book.)

    Hey everyone. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and will have a Happy Christmas.

    Now down to business.

    I'm still working on Chapter 11 and ... let's just say there are parts of it that make me go: "This is why I'm (despite my name) an engineer, and not a lawyer."

    But fear not. As I've said before, this chapter and story it is part of will both be finished.

    I know this is late, but I just had to share it.

    Thanks to misskoifishpony, I found out that my story The Draconequus with the Dragon Tattoo got a shoutout for Fluttercord Week 2022 Fanfic Appreciation in the form of this comic:

    Public Service Announcement

    Hey folks.

    I'm afraid it looks like I'm not going to be able to make my goal of wrapping up The Pegasus who Kicked the Changelings' Hive by the end of this year. (Not unless I somehow manage to churn out 12 chapters in two months, which I doubt that I could.) Now that being said, I know it's been several months since I last updated and I feel I owe you all an explanation.

    The Boys are Back ... Or are they?

    Hey, everyone. I want to thank you all for being so patient with me regarding updates for The Pegasus who Kicked the Changelings' Hive. I had several real-life commitments in April and May that took away from my writing time, but I'm currently hard at work on the story, and wish to reward you with a tiny sneak peek at the beginning of Chapter 2.

A little Christmas song fun via my sister · 12:58am Dec 14th, 2016

Last Christmas my sister Mythcatcher, who is essentially the Pinkie Pie to my Maud Pie, came up with four Christmas-related parody songs. I ran out of time to share them last year, so I decided to share them now instead. With her permission of course.

Song #1. Sleigh Rider in the Sky
My sister came up with this song when a friend pointed out to her that if you think about it the words: "You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why. Santa Claus is coming to town." almost sound like a western threat.

Sleigh Rider in the Sky
(sung to the tune of "Ghost Riders in the Sky")

A mysterious saint who's cloaked in red will get into your house
When not a creature is stirring, not even a mouse.
And when he's done, back to the North Pole he will fly
For he is the sleigh rider in the sky

Yippie yi yay
Yippie yi ooh
Sleigh rider in the sky

It's Christmas day, the children wake and bound down every stair
They see all the gifts and get nothing but despair
The children have been naughty, they've no way to justify
They've gotten coal and hear their mournful cry

Yippie yi yay
Yippie yi ooh
Sleigh rider in the sky

A mysterious saint who's cloaked in red will get into your house
When not a creature is stirring, not even a mouse.
And when he's done, back to the North Pole he will fly
For he is the sleigh rider in the sky

Yippie yi yay
Yippie yi ooh
Sleigh rider in the sky
Sleigh rider in the sky

#2. No One Sleeps Tonight
"Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse."
Yeah, right. I don't know about the rest of you, but when I (and by extension my younger sister) was a kid, we always had trouble falling asleep the night before Christmas, so here's a more accurate depiction of it.

No One Sleeps Tonight
(sung to the tune of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight")

(I'm all wound up, I'm all wound up, I'm all wound up, I'm all wound up)
(I'm all wound up, I'm all wound up, I'm all wound up, I'm all wound up)

It is Christmas, the night before Christmas
And no one sleeps tonight
It is Christmas, the night before Christmas
And no one sleeps tonight

Nearly Christmas, it's nearly Christmas
And no one sleeps tonight
Nearly Christmas, it's nearly Christmas
And no one sleeps tonight

Hush my darling, it's near, my darling,
It's Christmas after tonight
Hush my darling, it's near, my darling,
It's Christmas after tonight

#3. Lousy Drowsy Christmas
If possible, try to stay healthy this winter season so we don't have to wish you the following:

Lousy Drowsy Christmas
(sung to the tune of "Holly Jolly Christmas")

Have a lousy drowsy Christmas;
It's the sick time of the year
I don't know how much I'll blow
but my nose I hope to clear

Have a lousy drowsy Christmas;
And now keep in mind these terms
Run and go from friends you know
or you might spread the germs

Oh ho
the mistletoe
they say is a parasite;
When you see her, don't kiss her;
Or catch it you just might.

Have a lousy drowsy Christmas;
And in case you didn't hear
Oh by *Sneeze!*
have a lousy drowsy Christmas this year.

Oh, ho
the mistletoe
they say is a parasite;
When you see her, don't kiss her;
Or catch it you just might.

Have a lousy drowsy Christmas;
And in case you are still here
Oh by *Cough!*
have a lousy drowsy Christmas this year.

Oh by *Cough-cough!*
have a lousy drowsy Christmas this year.

#4. When Christmas Comes to Town (Reworked)

This last one is less a parody and more of a slight reworking of a song from The Polar Express to show the actual true meaning of Christmas.

When Christmas Comes to Town (Reworked)
(sung to the tune of "When Christmas Comes to Town")

La, la, la, la....

I'm looking at a star
And trying to believe
That even though it's far
You'll come to us Christmas Eve

Some people say You're busy
Or that You're never around
But I see You
When Christmas Comes to Town

The best time of the year
When everyone comes home
With all this Christmas cheer
It's hard to be alone

Putting up the Christmas tree
With friends who come around
It's so much fun
When Christmas Comes to Town

Presents for the children
Wrapped in red and green
All the things I've heard about
But never really seen

Nobody was sleeping
That first night of Christmas Eve
For our Savior was born that day

Presents for the children
Wrapped in red and green
All the things I've heard about
But never really seen

Nobody was sleeping
That first night of Christmas Eve
For our Savior was born that day

When Santa's sleigh bells ring
Now listen all around
The herald angels sing
I think I hear the sound

The prophecies will be fulfilled
The lost will now be found
That's all I want
When Christmas Comes to Town

That's all I want
When Christmas Comes to Town

Now on that note, I wish to thank my sister Mythcatcher for allowing me to share her song parodies, and to wish all of you a Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year(roughly two weeks in advance.)

Funny! I've always wanted to make parodies of Christmas songs.:yay:

Sooooooo sorry that I'm late in responding to this, so I hope you don't mind if I chime in (in a delayed manner). But I had to say how much I love all these funny parody songs to our favorite Christmas Jingles:) Now, all that we need is someone to do parody covers with these lyrics:D Anyway, tell your sis that she's just a great little lyricist;) Also, I didn't know that she had her own fanfiction account:O Gasp!

I know I'm pretty late on this response, but I wanted to thank both of you for commenting on the post. I'm glad to hear you both enjoyed the song parodies and my sister will be as well.

Also, I didn't know that she had her own fanfiction account:O Gasp!

*Chuckles* Yeah, I think she got one a bit after I confessed my double-life as a fanfic writer to her. Incidentally, she's also the dragon expert who told me that myth I mentioned to you about Koi fish turning into dragons.

Aww, not only did your sis accept your double life as a fanfic writer, but you also inspired her to take on the double life too:D Haha lol double life;) :P
But yeah, I totally remember how your sister mentioned the whole koi fish dragon myth to you but it's cool that it was Mythcatcher was the one who knew the myth:D
