Loganberry

I write stories. They tend to have ponies in. I also run the Louder Yay blog, including Ponyfic Roundup. Reviews of my fics, good or bad, always welcome.

    The Danger Within is out

It's been far too long since I last published anything (late February, in fact!), so here's a real live new story from me. Placeholder title image for now; it will probably be changed at a later date:

    TThe Danger Within
A magical accident at a castle garden party leaves Fancy Pants, Rarity and Fluttershy apparently alone in the middle of... somewhere. But where, and how will they make it home?

It's been far too long since I published anything. This will change. I'm now intending to go ahead with the block-breaker adventure before too much longer. Don't expect anything remotely special -- it is a block-breaker after all, so just getting stuff out there will be the main priority -- but as one possible point of interest, this story will have a main protagonist who is a canon

    I really mustn't do this

Every so often, I get curious and read all through multiple posts by people who feel that FiM is now a bad show, or at least far worse than it used to be. (No, PP, not just yours.) I generally end up feeling like I'm some sort of idiot and/or heretic for still enjoying it greatly. Because I do, and I'm not ashamed to say that. I probably should be, but stuff it. Like I said, I shouldn't do

    Writing will happen, eventually

I certainly haven't given up writing ponyfic, and nor have I lost my motivation to write it -- I've just been stupidly busy for quite some while. If things go well, I may be able to get a short story out before Hearth's Warming. We'll see. But I still have plenty of ideas I'd like to get into print!

    S7E25&26: "Shadow Play"

Look, I don't care, all right? I'll fret about how the Pillars might change the show's dynamics later. Right now, I just have a warm fuzzy glow from seeing the Mane Six use the Elements again. Everything else is secondary. I'm so happy. ★★★★★

Ponyfic Roundup reviews summary, #71 to #80 · 8:32pm Dec 8th, 2016

Previous: 1-10 | 11-20 | 21-30 | 31-40 | 41-50 | 51-60 | 61-70

About time I updated this thing, I feel! These ten PRs were published between August and November 2015, and by now I'd settled into a routine and style that largely persists to this day -- though my reviews are still a bit shorter than they tend to be today. I wasn't doing many themed editions at this point, something I've recently decided to change.

In this selection, I give five-star ratings in three successive PRs, as well as reviewing The Luna Cypher, Would It Matter If I Was? and Friendship is Optimal. Oh, and not actually detesting Rainbow Factory. As usual, the details are after the break. Also as usual, any [Mature] stories will bear a link to the author's page, not directly to the fic; you can credit/blame Fimfiction requirements for this.

The whole Lost Cities series by Cold is worthy of a gold medal.
Twilight Sparkle Makes a Cup Of Tea is one of those stories I wasn't sure I liked the first time I read it, and really was unsure about the third, but around the fifth time, I started to wonder just why I kept going back and reading it if I didn't like it. Then I realized I did. Sneaky little story.

4333116 Cup of Tea really seems to divide opinion. In the blog comments when I reviewed it, not only did Inquisitor M part from consensus (okay, that wasn't too startling) but xjuggernaughtx also said it "just didn't do it for [him]". I think it clicked for me on the first read, so I'm not in their group or yours! I can't remember in much detail, though it's so short that I might go back and read it again at some point.
