NaPoWriMo Is Over, and I Didn't Do So Well · 8:34pm Dec 1st, 2016
Welp, after a month of writing with a 30,000 word goal, I can definitely say that I completely and utterly failed to accomplish much of what I set out to do.
At best, I managed a bit over half of that. I intended to have it all contribute to my primary project, but I got stuck on it quite a few times (seasonal depression didn't help), and about a third of what I did write went to other, mostly minor, projects.
Oh well. Just means that this is going to take a whole lot longer than I had originally anticipated. I had hoped to get a first draft completed in about a year; and at my current rate, I'm looking at closer to two. I may even set it aside at some point to work on smaller stories, since I'd rather not go two full years without publishing anything.
On the weird side, a bunch of the minor-project words went to an actual poem, which is very strange for me, since I don't read much poetry, and pretty much never write any. I probably won't finish it, but there are a few bits of it that I rather like, and may salvage for other projects.
