VHS Update for November 30, 2016 - VIDEO COMING SOON · 8:55pm Nov 30th, 2016

I just received VHS copies of films from my math teacher Miss Harumi - three are from her native Japan.

American tapes are:

MEN DON'T LEAVE, which I've never even heard of before. Apparently, the back cover of it tells me that it'll keep me roaring. It's a Warner Home Video release from 1990; it's one of the last tapes from Warner to have an end label.

There were two versions of 101 DALMATIANS made. The one I got in from Harumi was the 1996 version with Glenn Close. But if I heard correctly, I should probably stick to the 1961 cartoon version. This was formerly from Blockbuster, from which it was purchased on August 25, 1997. Print date is March 13, 1997.

Japanese tapes are:

If you've seen one of my previous VHS updates, I recently acquired a copy of the VHS of SISTER ACT from Tuesday, September 8, 1992 (i.e. the print date). I figured, if I got SISTER ACT 1, why not SISTER ACT 2. Except I don't think it's meant to be that good. Has sort of a print date "94-12-16" (read: December 12, 1994). Has a barcode printed inside the clamshell! I'm pretty sure that the Fujisankei Communications Group was involved in making/distributing Buena Vista tapes at the time (yes, that includes Disney, Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures) as their logo is on the back of the tape.

Next, a VHS of THE RIVER WILD on CIC Video, from 1995. Looks thrilling, if I'm to believe the front cover. No print date on this one, but it does have a sticker in the jacket for a place called the SOUND SHOP, which apparently offers a "Large Choice of TAPE & DISK."

Harumi warned me before getting the VHS of PATCH ADAMS that this attempts to run the film using both English and Japanese audio tracks simultaneously. This thus creates an unintentional piece of comic gold. It's one of CIC Video's last tapes, as it came out in 1999; what happened was Universal merged with PolyGram, and Paramount ended up subsequently buying its percentage of CIC. No print date again!

The last of the tapes is Walt Disney Pictures' TARZAN, presumably from 2000. No print date, but this last effort from the Disney Renaissance is in wide-screen! :pinkiehappy:
