    Read. Remember. Rewrite. Read again.

I'm very sorry for the lack of update on The Six Habits of Very Friendly Ponies, especially given I had so little left to publish.

Is this what the internet looks like nowadays?

Oh, sweet Celestia enthroned in the Holy Flames of Friendship... I am so out of the loop!

    New Username

I've been wanting to change my username for quite some time now. It was an okay name, but it just didn't feel pony-related. So, I've changed it to Ponygon, as in polygon, but instead of being multi-sided, I'm pony-sided. Pony's a number, right?

    Equestria Daily

I've just submitted The Ponies and the Ponies to EQD for the third time. I'm not going to attempt it again, though. If it fails to get through, well, I'll just have to live with it. All this work hasn't been a total waste of time, though. They've given me some legitiatemly good pointers, so the work I've done on the earlier chapters should draw in a few more readers.

    A Tale of Two Websites

Sorry for the delay in posting new chapters. I've currently hit a point in the story where I need to hold chapters back, just in case I need to redo earlier chapters to make writing later chapters easier. It's the threads! In retrospect, the entire story would have been easier if I'd had two investigations—one on either side of the border—that were actually two-sides of the same coin. But it's

The United States of Equestria · 11:34am Nov 25th, 2016

I thought I'd share a little prologue I'm working on as a part of an alt-history story inspired by the ramblings of FimFiction users JackAnarchy and WLAM.

“Your Highness, is something wrong?”

Princess Celestia turned to look to the President, the first African-Equestrian to hold that office, and made an approximation of a smile. After centuries of practice, she was confident it was indistinguishable from the real thing. Even so, she put a bit more effort into it than usual. The US President, after all, was a very perceptive man, unlike his predecessor (never had she been more tempted to contravene the 1787 Constitution than during that man’s years as President).

She chuckled. “Would you believe, Mr President, that even after all these centuries, I still get a bit nervous?” replied the Princess.

That was true in a way, but it certainly wasn’t why she was nervous.

Celestia looked to the clock. It was almost time. Soon the stars would align and her sister would be free. Would Luna be angry; would she still be Nightmare Moon?

The clock struck quarter past five. It was time. She looked up and frowned. There was no sign of her sister. There was no moon in the sky. She still stood there in Ponyville Town Hall with the human President by her side and his human retinue.

Had she miscounted the years? They had all blurred so quickly since the United Kingdom of Equestria became the United States of Equestria. Those humans certainly knew how to take up her time, first with the Equestrian Reformation between 1765 and 1783 and then the Napoleonic—

“Oh,” she said suddenly.

“Your Highness?”

Ah yes, she remembered now. The year had been 1816. Napoleon Bonaparte had finally been defeated a third time at the Battle of Cloudsdale and the Eighth Coalition, sick and tired of him escaping exile, had asked her to banish him to the moon. Had she accidentally added a few extra years to her sister’s exile by mixing up banishment spells?

Well, that settled it. She was going to have to pull Twilight Sparkle back to Canterlot and try again in another six years.

And Luna would be so mad at her!

Alt-history and AUs, like crossovers, are soooo fun when pulled off well! :rainbowdetermined2:

I'm debating how stupid to make it. WLAM thought it'd be funny to have a French, beret-wearing, cheese-eating Nightmare Moon. I'm personally wondering whether I should go all Star Wars with a Death Moon and French Imperial Lunar Stormtroopers.

4317915 You mean Nightmare Moon isn't already barbaric enough with those needlepoint fang of hers, she needs a beret and an accent too? :trollestia:

Napoleon got sealed in the moon with Nightmare Moon! What else did you think was going to happen?

EDIT: I just realised something! Our avatars make it look like I'm talking to myself.

4318233 ... it's weird but I want this to be a thing now, the Napoleon thing xD

And how do you know you aren't ... ? :pinkiecrazy:
