That's right! For those of you/us in the United States of America, at least. I admit I do not know if other countries celebrate the 4th Thursday of November, so my apologies for being insensitive/ignorant.
In light of Pokemon Sun and Moon, I need to ask the following because I am torn as I write the next chapter. Should knowledge/generations/games be retroactively known by Jessie and Glenn, considering that for them it has only been a month at most? Or should they be completely unaware due to worlds moving at different rates of time?
I shall get back to work now, though, since it won't affect this chapter. New chapter won't be tonight. Someone messed with my writing moxie, and now it is lost for the night. ~__~

Trying to retroactively make ongoing fanfics conform to currently changing canon usually just makes things messy for no good reason. I'm not saying it can't be done well, but it's generally a bad idea (plus, I'm pretty sure there's at least some earlier chapters you'd have to retcon). In short, I would highly recommend staying away from any Sun/Moon stuff as far as the fic goes.
Your previous chapters have no mention of fairy type so that would be a whole plot point you would have to work in if you are going to advance their knowledge.
Plus there are now 802 Pokémon so keeping track of all them is nearly impossible. Not to mention mega evolutions and aloha forms. If you have one that you really like though, I don't think anyone will fault you if you add it in with a proper introduction.
