Last night, I baked this year's pie.
If you've followed me for a while (and it's been so long since I've posted regularly, if you're reading this perhaps you've forgotten you followed me at all!), you might recall that a pecan pie is something special to me, and a few years ago I wrote a little story about it.
I hope you and yours have a fun and safe holiday season, and if you're in need of a festive dessert, consider the humble pecan pie.

We should talk more often
I have read this fic, two years ago. Very touching story, both the fic and the events that inspired it.
But I did not remember "Home" anymore until I saw this blog entry, so I'll be reading it again this year.
Even though I don't find as much time to read fics as I would like, I guess I have at least reached the point now where I have read so many fics that I can't remember some of them anymore.

I'm so glad to have seen this again, especially since my mother and I are making a pecan pie as well (in the oven as we speak). Technically a chocolate pecan pie, and a vegan one at that, so it will be wildly different, but with any luck it will bring about a new tradition in my family.

I'm fascinated by this frankly bizarre pie you baked; do you have a link to the recipe?
We actually haven't had any weather; sure would love some. Instead my state seems hell-bent on burning to the ground.

It ended up turning out delicious, though more like a very soft brownie than a pie, almost. Strange, delicious, very rich.
