Well, as you can see, today ends up as another where I didn't put out a chapter. This is for a few reasons though. I actually did a good amount of school work this week. I spent about all of Tuesday and Monday doing school work. I don't even remember what I did on Wednesday, but it think that's the day I was at my worst point in being sick this week. Did I mention I was sick last time? I still am. It does not let up. It sucks to have a perpetually sore throat. I slept through most of Thursday after I got out of class, and I got the new Pokemon game Friday, and beat it yesterday. It was a lot of fun and I did not put it down save to go see Fantastical Beasts and where to find them, for free.
The movie was pretty good. I had no context or really background other than the Harry Potter movies, but honestly, this was better than those. I'm not the greatest at analyzing things, but I'd say the movie was pretty great. I don't watch live action stuff very often, so this was different. I did go see Dr. Strange last weekend, but marvel movies have a special place in my heart.
Oh muh gad Pokemon. I haven't played a Pokemon game that was this much fun since Black and White. I got Sun version because best princess is exactly that, and once I have the other to go with it, I'll be doing my princess runs on these games. One thing that bothered me, the only thing that bothered me, right at the end of the game you run through Team Skull and the other antagonists one after another, and that was a grind. Artemis Fowl, my Decidueye, probably nailed fourteen Golbats to the floor with Spirit shackle within twenty minutes. But one thing struck me as odd. The bosses were suddenly getting hard. and right at the end there I had a tough time dealing with the champ and the elite four. Specifically the flying type randi that just shows up at the end of the game. The other three you see in the game and have fought before, but her? She's just kinda there.
I'd hope the post game elaborates on her because so many of the characters feel like real people in this game. While I hate Hau because he's a cheery little fuck that doesn't ever get mad, I still enjoyed the fact that he felt real. Gladion is my spirit animal. Because I am Gladion. I loved it right at the end because you fight him as more of a "Blue" style rival, the asshole whose just like, nah bro I'm better than you up to a certain point, then he learns a thing and you realize all of his pokemon evolve with Friendship. I had a happy gasm, and I am not at all ashamed of that. After a few more play throughs, this will likely be my favorite pokemon game. My Mudsdale, Applejack (Come on, it's fucking perfect!) was the real star of the show at the end because she not only took several hits, she eventually dished out all the damage she took. She was slow, but she had the defenses to back that up and a typing with like, three weaknesses. Ice was a bitch to deal with, but other than that, she could take water and grass stuff to the face.
The only pokemon I was disappointed in was the cover legendary. Fullmetalion, My Solgaleo, could not take a hit and had the unlucky fortune to take like, three Z moves to the face every time I sent him out. It was just sad. He needs to be EV trained now, but man, it was just a disappointment after coming from Platinum and having Giratina useful all the way from when I caught it. The no badge system was pretty great, but in reality trial captains (and Guzma) were basically gym leaders. Areas were locked off until you had specific Z crystals, so whatever. I'm still missing the psychic one for the generic type Crystals, so I'll have to figure that out later.
Anyways, I need to hit the road and make my trip back home. my four and a half hour drive awaits, and that's what's keeping me from exploring the post game and battling RED AND BLUE! I'm so excited to do that. Grimsley, Cynthia, Anabel, Corless, and even Wally are all in this game to fight and I cannot wait to hear all those themes again. Especially Anabel's theme. Frontier brains have the best themes in all the games, (save for Cynthia's intro. That is the shit.) And I only ever fought like, two of the emerald frontier brains for real.
TL;DR No chapter this week, one will be out next week, and the new pokemon games are amazing, go pick one up.
