Again concerning homosexuality · 12:13am Nov 15th, 2016

You probably showed up here expecting another blog attacking homosexuality. While it's true I still view it as wrong, I've realized that all sins are bad; lying, cheating, stealing, adultery, distorted and uncontrolled anger, hatred, and idolatry are all bad, and homosexuality is no less, or worse, than the rest of them.

I have to admit, I voted for Trump expecting the ACLU and Freedom From Religion organizations to receive a wake up call (if not a slap in the face), and a reversal of numerous bad decisions that the courts, and the Supreme Court as well, have made. I still think he was a better choice than Clinton. But the hate for homosexuals that I've seen of late has left me alarmed, to say the least.

All sin, no matter how "little" or "big", is offensive to the one God who created us. I may not be homosexual, but I do have a temper like there's no tomorrow, as well as a bunch of other issues, including slothfulness. Fortunately for us, God wants to save us. He invites us to come as we are, because only then can we be rescued from eternal death.

The story of Zacchaeus is one example. The tax collector in Jericho was known to be a man who cheated the people, not to mention his own people considered him a traitor for taxing them on behalf of the Roman Empire. And yet of all the people in town, Jesus not only noticed him, He chose to say at his house. The Savior acted, coming into his life. Zacchaeus reacted to His coming, and positively; “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount” (Luke 19:8). Jesus didn't condemn him for his former actions (or condemn him at all, as far as I can see from the situation). Instead, He commended him.

That's not to say that homosexuality isn't a sin. And I oppose what the lawyers of numerous organizations are doing to people who refuse to back down from lives of faith.. But too many people see the behavior and not the person, a potential child of God. I used to think like that; it's easy, especially when your opponents are just avatars and words on a computer screen, to ignore that there's a real person there. Hate is just as bad as homosexuality, stealing, adultery, and any other sin.

No one, not even a true and saved Christian, can say that they haven't sinned. We all have. The difference is whether or not we come to Christ so he can help us. When we do go to Him, He is faithful to restore us. We may still sin, but we are no longer under judgment. Let's stop playing judge and start being witnesses, so that others might share in the blessing of eternal life. We are free. Let's help others to be free as well, and not push them away. Let us love others the way we love our selves, and even more importantly love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength.

May God go with you all, and please have a great night.

Noticeable quotes;

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10).

Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?’” (Luke 15:1–4).

“I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners” (Matthew 9:13).

Isaiah 61:1–2: “The Spirit of the LORD is on me, / because he has anointed me / to preach good news to the poor. / He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners / and recovery of sight for the blind, / to release the oppressed, / to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor

Jesus, our friend, spent time with sinners, not to join their sinful ways but to present them the good news that forgiveness was available.

Amen, brother! :twilightsmile:

I agree with most of this mate. Though I do believe there are some sins that are worse than others, and I also believe that we are called to judge. Though judge properly, with The Holy Spirit leading us. Though I can't say for sure if we're suppose to judge the world or not, we might just be suppose to judge the church and each other, but its quite the fine line, fine enough to leave me confused sometimes.

If you could pray for the success of this, for me, and especially for others who need help and instruction, I would appreciate it.

GOD BLESS YOU MY GOOD MAN! God bless! :twilightsmile:

You bring up very interesting topics and ideas in your blog posts. (Sorry, I've just been reading through them ^^)

While I fully support the LGBT community, and being gay (or any other orientation outside the 'norm') is most definitely not a choice, I really do admire your kindness and tolerance. Despite your greatly religious outlook at the world, you are able to see them as people, not sins. You understand that while you don't agree, nobody should be treated unjustly. That is a very strong moral that should be carried throughout life. And I'll admit it's not always easy for me to accept when people have opinions I view as 'wrong'. I suppose it's just a matter of humanity.
