So in the wake of this bit of communal ridiculousness, I approached award-winning FIMFic and Writeoff author Not_A_Hat with a proposition. "Mr. !Hat," I said, "I like the cut of your not-a-jib. And furthermore, neither one of us has watched the Season 6 finale yet. And further-furthermore, this impending headcanon trainwreck seems like an awfully auspicious time to get drunk. I MEAN, write fics. Get drunk and collaboratively write fics."
(!Hat agreed, which just goes to prove he's got significantly more writing skill than common sense.)
The upshot is: We're having an episode reaction party, followed by copious sobbing at changelings being RUINED FOREVER reacting to the episode in the best possible fanfic tradition: sufficient inebriation to take the edge off of the memories, followed by an attempted fixfic and/or merciless comedic takedown! BY OUR POWERS COMBINED, a new changeling-y thing shall be created! And in hindsight that sounds like we're going to have changeling sex or something, but that's totally not what I meant

Once the writing starts, we'll announce the Google Doc link in the chat, and you can pester us with chat text and story comments/suggestions/general hilarity as we labor for your amusement!

And given that both !Hat and I are Americans, we had to choose what would give us the most comfortable writing period without crimping my plans for work the next day.
We can't broadcast to America, Europe, and Australia without putting it in the middle of someone's night. Sorry.

Can confirm Season Six's quality. On a 1-10 scale of "this is everything I want out of MLP", where Season Two was the high point at like a 9, I think Seasons Three-Four were the low point in the sub-5 range, and it's been climbing back up to somewhere near a 7. Their willingness to push the show narrative along with the CMCs' development, I think, was the first major turning point, and they've knocked several story arcs out of the park.
On the other claw, "Staglight Gleamer and the Journey of the Mary Sue More Powerful Than The Element Of Magic" is not one of them.

I still believe I might have correctly predicted what will happen to Starlight Glimmer, which suggests a converse-based explanation for her OP-ness (hee hee hee, that sounds naughty).
Another clue to this is 'bro delayed developing impotentgoatpony much this season, even after establishing his relevance as a character. This is the sort of character arc they'd want to stretch out past a single season.
