R.I.P Leonard Cohen · 2:43am Nov 11th, 2016
The year of death has struck once again, this time claiming the life of Leonard Cohen at the age of 82. Right now the official cause of death hasn't been announced. In addition to being a talented musician, his best known song was "Hallelujah" penned in 1984 and covered by many many other artists including Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan. And he was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
In addition, Cohen was a poet and novelist, publishing his first two novels prior to his debut as a singer in 1967 and he continued to write poetry throughout his life. His most recent album surprisingly came out just last month entitled You Want It Darker and prior to it he discussed his declining health and mortality (though he denied any claims that he was close to death, claiming he was just being dramatic). Perhaps he was aware of something and didn't want anyone to know.
May he finally know peace alongside his longtime muse Marianne Ihlen.
My heart goes out to his family tonight! R.I.P.
We've lost so much good talented people this year
