Trump won. There are a lot of reasons I'm not happy about this, but the biggest one is climate change.

He thinks it's a hoax made up by China. He plans to appoint a climate change denier to head the EPA. There's no possibility of the Senate and House, who are aligned with him, stopping him.

We're running out of time to throw the brakes on climate change. If we continue on the path we're on now, it will at best wipe out our civilization and at worst annihilate all life on Earth. The problem is that we as a society have shown no intention of stepping off this path, and I see no reason to believe we'll do so. By the time it affects the people who can actually do something about it enough for them to care, it'll be too late.

Nothing lasts forever. I'd come to accept a long time ago that the world has to end someday. I just hoped it would outlast me.

It will be a while before climate change really causes us serious issues. In 2020 the price of chocolate is expected to go up because of it, which will probably be the wake up call to vote for a president who plans to do something about it and coincidentally is also when the next presidential election will be held.

There are no brakes on climate change. While humans have made a large footstep on Earth's climate, it is a natural occurrence every hundred thousand years or so. We've just sped it up a lot more.

Sadly though scientists have said we've already crossed the threshold of no return.

Thing is, it's not entirely one-sided. Sure Trump will try to repel this, but it won't be as easy as he makes it out to be. And even then, most people who know about climate change won't take this lying down.

This might shed some light on why: http://www.vox.com/energy-and-environment/2016/11/10/13587474/donald-trump-obama-climate-policy

It's not gonna be so bad for us but our children are fuuuuucked.

Also keep in mind that the GOP isn't really as "aligned" with him as it would seem. The GOP leadership and old guard spent a massive amount of effort trying to reel Trump in and looking for someone ANYONE else to push as a candidate, and Trump spent a considerable amount of time insulting and alienating them. The GOP at large doesn't want a Trump presidency, they want a reelection, and there's the up coming trial that Trump has, plenty of time to turn it into a media gong-show and produce a excuse to eject him even if he doesn't get prison time. Even if he makes it to January 20th he can't actually do much or use most of his powers without the the support of his party, who largely hate him, will likely try to run things without him, and Trump has the personality type that is likely to respond to this by throwing a hissy-fit and vetoing everything he can out of indignation.

Put bluntly if Trump lasts we are not looking at the apocalypse in the USA, but a internationally and domestically embarrassing period of governmental paralysis, rolled up with whatever antics that Trump will get up to that will destroy his nation's reputation internationally.
