Why I Don't Write Here Anymore

I suppose it's been on my mind for a long time, but it never really occurred to me until recently. And because a few of you have been waiting for some projects I promised I'd finished, you deserve to know, as well.

    This exists . . .

This is a thing that exists. This was made with effort, and money.

And Hasbro actually put their name on this.

    . . .

    . . .

    . . .

I'm gonna step away from this one.

My good friend needs some support

You all probably know HudsonHawk, especially if you know me. Even though I've never met the man in person, he's my best friend on this site, on the internet, and probably ever.

    Embarking on a new venture

Recently I discovered a site for content creators called Daisie. It allows people to post their work and ask for collaborators, and it was created by actress Maisie Williams, whom many of you might know as Arya Stark from Game of Thrones.

Some election thoughts (warning: not a happy post) · 3:54pm Nov 9th, 2016

I'm sorry. This will be a downer. I try to avoid those. But this is bigger than me. This needs to be said.

Hate and depravity won in America. This was not a storybook ending. The villains won the day. So, we are subjected to eight years (because let's face it, if he got in once, he'll get in again) of bullying, bigotry, cruelty and failure.

Trump has the White House. He won't be impeached because Republicans control Congress. And nothing he does will be ruled unconstitutional because Republicans also control the Supreme Court. They've abandoned all pretense; they control everything now. They'll make this country suitable for themselves and destroy opportunities for everyone else. And there's no turning back.

I'm already checking out places in Ontario, and I think I might have found one. Even so, if any of my Canadian friends or followers can offer some assistance in getting me up there, please let me know.

This country cannot be saved. Because it's not worth saving. One side put that madman in office, and the other cheated and lied to put his worst possible opponent against him. America's soul is gone. There's nothing left of it.

I'm walking away while I can. I know a lost cause when I see it. I just didn't want to believe it until now.

Thank you all for your continued support. Despite what I think, don't let any of this get you down. I'm sure America has fallen, but that doesn't mean you have to fall with it. No matter what you decide to do, stand tall. Stay strong. And stand by what you believe in.

And if you're black, Latino, LGBT, Muslim, or just a blue collar person like me: I still support you. You are loved, and you are worthy. Whatever you decide to do, I will stand by you.

Good luck, everyone. I'm so sorry it had to come to this, but that's the way things are now. Maybe if my homeland gets it's act together, I'll come back. But as it stands, this country is over.

But you are not.

Live your lives by your principles. And don't let anyone stop you from being who you are, and doing what makes you happy.

Eh, we get to sit through the rest of Obama before we deal with trump, at least.
;~;
I can't leave :raritycry:

Wow, how patriotic and loyal are you?

Yeah, I know how you feel man. But I'm trying to be on the optimistic side as well. Hey, maybe Trump really will make America great again. (Though I severely doubt it.)

Wait, so you're saying since one Republican got elected president and Republicans have control over the Senate and House, all Republicans are bad? Or did I just misread your post? I mean I read the entirety of it, but that's just the vibe I'm getting... If you wanted to explain that'd be nice.

I kinda saw this outcome coming- though I dont have my spider web of comms like I did 6 years ago, so I'm stuck country bound. But hell, I was born in this country, and though I dont really believe in a concept of nationalism or countries, I can still understand a person's pride for their country, cause home is where the heart is. If Trump wants to start a war, you can bet many are not going to sit quietly. Do I like the idea of a Civil War? Hell no, it's one of our bloodiest wars, and to fight your countrymen for the sake of your own ideals is borderline barbarism. But I wont sit idle and submit to Trump's status Quo- if I can fight it, I shall

Okay seriously do you think congress is fucking stupid are you sure America has taken sure he won presidency but that doesn't mean America is destroyed why would congress want that no why do everyone give up on America because of one thing thats just jumping to conclusions

Well, this is the America season finale.

4292587 Well, do me a favor and don't be hateful to my even less patriotic comment. it's just an opinion.
But he seems about as patriotic and loyal as this country deserves.

Brazil counts with all of you too. I hope everything will be fine in the end.

I wish I could. I agree with you very much on most of these.

4292614 Just saying. This is kinda cowardly of him.

I sadly can't leave but I well try to pray for this country

4292602 I never said all Republicans were bad. But they do support each other in spite of the heinous decisions of the worst of them. Trump would never have gotten the job otherwise. So, despite his worst decisions, no one will raise a hand to stop him.

4292609 You don't seem to understand the gravity of the situation. This man is the most unqualified, disgusting, reprehensible excuse for human life you can imagine. And he won. America chose him anyway. When things like that happen, there's nothing left to do but what you can for yourself, for those you love, and for what you believe in.

4292587 Patriotism is irrelevant. With Trump in office, patriotism is just a mask for hate and prejudice.

4292628 does it exemplify cowardice, bravery, or intelligence?
It takes some heart to do something openly cowardly in public, it's not an easy thing to do, he's talking about abandoning his homeland.
Then again, he /is/ abandoning the country. Which some have this thig called /patriotism/ that is quite frankly beyond my grasp of understanding. (Nor do I have any, but that started way before the election)
But, it probably is a good idea to get out sooner rather than later.
The ship is sinking, you can either bail water and try to patch the holes, get on a raft and float away, or calmly wait for the end.

4292642 Good lord he isn't Hitler's and Pol Pot's love child. He isn't gonna do anything horrible.

4292632 your basically giving up on America sure its bad really bad but giving up on America is basically saying your giving up on you your family and the people that sacrifice their lives to make America what I is today and lets face it we could've not have a civil war in not to be a free country

4292663 xP
I didn't go that far.
He's not the entire reason I see this country like that, he's more of the dealbreaker for me. Like, there's been a lot of in the ship for a while, and we've been taking on water pretty quickly.
Then Trump pretty much just punched all those tiny holes into a bigger one..
My boat analogies, so bae~

4292632 Not really. But PK is right. Your basically giving up and throwing away what the founding fathers fought for.

4292663 Did you miss his pseudo-patriotic rhetoric about criminal Mexicans and terrorist refugees, and his misogynistic comments about women and his complete disregard for the plight of black people in the streets of America? Are you aware that he is a failed businessman who is now in charge of the entire country's money? Do you recall every single little tantrum he ever threw on Twitter when he was called out for his bullshit?

Yes. He is that bad.

4292671 The people who gave their lives for this country ensured that Trump could be in office in the first place. Their sacrifice was in vain. Democracy is dead.

My family all believe the same, and will be following suit. So, I'm not turning my back on anyone. I'm making a very important decision for the good of my life, my family, and my freedom. And a Trump administration is one without freedom.

4292705 Like I said, they fought in vain. Our government abused and squandered the rights given to them to put a madman in office. They had a choice, and they chose wrong. So before you blame me for leaving, try looking into the people who made it this way in the first place.

4292727 He. Can't. Do. Anything. Bad. The constitution wouldn't allow it. Even though the supreme cour is mostly republican they have no choice if something like making discrimination legal again.

4292737 You are a coward for leaving. He's probably not gonna do anything horrible.

4292587 Well, can you blame him about being displeased that Trump's probably going to become our next president, given some of the polices Donald said he's going to put into place?

4292739 The Constitution is worthless. Republicans control Congress, so they will make sure nothing he does is stopped. The Supreme Court, too. He has free reign to do what he wants, and frankly, we deserve it for putting him in that position of power.

So, when you see a boulder falling on you from the cliffs of a broken, corrupt democracy, will you stay and think you can make it stop falling just by standing there, or are you going to get out of the way?

4292744 Call me what you like. But I was promised life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If that pursuit leads me to a better country, then so be it.

Are you gona leve this site now becus Trump is president:fluttercry:?

4292756 People underestimate the constitution. God, stop being so much like Fluttershy and actually think. Their not going to do anything that violates civil rights because guess what Georgie? They can't. It's against the highest law of the land. And no Trump can't play God with the constitution.

4292762 Omg man. Your still stubborn.

4292764 Hell no. I would never leave this place because of an election. The US may have disappointed me, but you guys sure haven't. :raritywink:

4292769 "Georgie"? "Being like Fluttershy"?

You know, maybe if you treated people better, you'd be a little more liked. I'm sorry, but you're not very nice to people. You need to work on that.

4292632 Okay. That makes more sense. Forgive me if you feel I accused you. I just want this election junk to be over...

4292784 Don't change the subject. I actually am nice to people. I'm just blunt, It's an autism thing.

4292788 It's okay. I feel the same way. But the way things turned out, we'll be in for an unpleasant run long after this election, and that's putting it lightly. :ajsleepy:

4292727 still you people think its the end of the fucking world its really not though

4292791 You're calling me a coward and comparing me to Fluttershy (erroneously, I might add) just because I want a better life that the US can no longer provide. Seems pretty "not nice" to me.

And don't blame your autism for your conscious mistakes. You hurt someone, you own it. Period.

4292784 daaawww! Thank you:heart:

4292797 It's not the end of the world.

It's the end of democracy in America.

4292803 Well I am nice to people just ask my best friend. Plus me and you don't have a good history. And I kinda forgot that you dish it out but can't take it. If your hurt by my words than I'm surprised. I wasn't trying to hurt you.

4292811 I say "hurt" as an example. Plus, you and I have a bad history because you insist on inserting yourself in conversations and making a general nuisance of yourself. Had you ignored me, this wouldn't be happening.

And FYI, I can "take it" just as well as I can "dish it out" now. "I just don't "dish it out" anymore. So no, you're not hurting me now. All you're doing is proving what an immature jerk you can be to people. I know you're not like that all the time, but that's all you ever show me, so I act on that. Show me something different, and I'll act accordingly. Until then, you need to shape up.

4292829 Sorry, but I'm not a jerk. I'm just a little insensitive at times. And I dont think I need shaping up. I'm fine.

4292807 but are you really gonna move its probably even worst to where you going

4292837 That's exactly what someone who needs shaping up would say. Because they don't see that their behavior is the problem.

If you want some perspective: I once thought the same exact way. I was wrong.

4292845 Look. I'm a good person at heart. I know I don't show it to you but I am. It's just this blog seems stupid.

4292794 Yeah. Hahaha I mean its not going to stop us from writing, is it? :twilightsheepish:

4292844 Not really. Canada has nationalized health care, higher working wages, more tolerant laws, better education and friendlier, more accepting people. It's a good deal, and I've been given the bad deal by the US long enough.

4292863 so your just gonna move like that no questions well good luck I doubt you'll have good internet

4292858 I certainly won't let it stop me that easily. :rainbowdetermined2:

4292854 And a good person, or at least a tactful one, would have explained this feeling in a composed, polite and dignified manner, without the need for name-calling or shaming.

You need help, man. I've been in a position to help you for a long time, but you already can't stand me. All you do is resent me for thinking differently from you. So I don't try.

4292877 I doubt I'll have internet at all for a while. It comes with moving. But it's a small price to pay for a better life.

We survived the Bush years. We will survive Trump.
