I have to blog post about this. (Non-MLP related)

While I was working on Spike's Spike, a late-night movie was broadcasted on the television. And I watched it while writing the story, and it was one of the most random, hilarious, utterly nonsensical movies I have ever seen.

The movie was called "Mom", a 1980s/early 1990s flick about a 70 year old-something mother becoming a Vampire.

Yeah, I'm serious. And here's the kicker: the movie was meant as a serious drama/horror. But as we all know a movie about a Vampire Grandma could only come off as a comedy. Trust me. It was.

"Mom" is literally one of the most bizarre films I have ever seen (I have seen A LOT of films). But I must admit that it is AN EXPERIENCE! I would recommend this film to anyone just to allow them the opportunity to experience a piece of cinematic history that attempted to be recognized as serious artwork.

So how about I give you a tiny review? Then you can hit the Internet and check it out for yourself.

Okay, so the movie starts off on Chistmas Eve. There is this woman sitting at some random bus-stop/ rest-stop/ gas station / "hey, let's place a den in the middle of nowhere", and she offers this bottle of liquor to a bald, sunglasses-wearing guy in all black standing ominously in the corner. Oh, and it's around 11 p.m. at night, so, yeah, the guy DEFINITELY doesn't appear shady in any way. *cough* Anyway, the guy ignores the girl, and she keeps pestering him to take a drink. By her words "It's Chistmas Eve, after all. I'm just offering a drink.". The guy finally gets sick of her annoying pestering, so he walks right up to her, grabs her by the neck, drags her to the middle of the desert, rips off her clothes and sinks his teeth into the bratty woman.

Then comes the opening sequence. I kid you not, the movie was trying to come off as an Oscar contender. The title credits just gives you that feel.

Anyway, we meet the "Mom" of the movie. She is this old woman who ends up getting turned into a Vampire by the "sunglasses-wearing guy", and she is trained by him to feed on the humans.

Throughout the film the son of the Vampire Grandma tries to tie her up her room, trying to figure out what to do. The poor guy has no idea, and random people (police officer, homeless people, prostitute, daughter, etc.) just get eaten up by the Old Bag.
The movie has transformations, so the Old Woman becomes this "Monstsr-looking thing" complete with make-up and everything.

The entire movie is a laugh-fest, filled with so many inconsistencies, flaws, and WTF moments that you just have to check this movie out. I seriously enjoyed it as a comedy, even though it tried to come off as dramatic thriller/horror.

The movie has blood, boobs, guns and explosions. All because of this Grandma Vampire.

So watch out!

What are some hilariously bizarre movies you have seen?

you can expect anything from late-night movies... :twilightblush:

the peanut butter solution

holy fucking shit, what?

Reminds me of The Raid.

Haven't seen the movie, but

this is always gold comedy indeed.

Check out 'The Room'.:twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush::twilightblush:

Um, gremlins?:rainbowdetermined2:
And, what.The.eff. A grandma vampire?:ajbemused:
Nope, I didn't see anything.:pinkiecrazy:
Bye....
please don't follow me.:applejackconfused:

How could a subtext like that be for a non-comedy? (In case you are unaware, the subtext in question is the text under the title.)

As for bizzare movies... Have you seen Mystery Men?

Oh hey, Mom! I saw that! It was so freakin' stupid it was funny! :rainbowlaugh:

I'd recommend anything Monty Python if you want something like that, or any of those "Giant Shark vs. Other Giant Monster" movies. They just suck so much, they're awesome. Oh, and Singin' In The Rain. That is just great.

And if you're looking for something that gets awkward at points, watch A Clockwork Orange. An excellent film, but you will have an odd day if your parents walk in during the gang rape scene.

Surf Nazis Must Die, full stop.

I think it was trying to be so bad that it was good but it fell flat on its face. The worst part was that it was trying to market merchandise after the credits. (T-shirts, sweat shirts and that jazz) So not only was it a bad movie all around, it further tried to spit in my face by trying to sell me shit. You can't be Plan 9 From Outer Space, you just can't.

Another bad one, Pot Zombies. The basic premise is smoking weed makes you a zombie, and I couldn't get 15 minutes in because I was bored to tears.

Of course it was a movie from the 80's. :trollestia:
Who could forget THIS movie?

:rainbowlaugh:

the room:rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh: it's so bad that its good

The Bitching theme song for it

This movie made me fucking hate clowns as kid

Hmm, Caligula, A Clockwork Orange, Dead Alive, Ed and His Dead Mother, and this:

The trailer is the best part! XD

Can't forget this piece of shit

Or ZAAT!

368503
I've heard of that!

If you guys want a bizzare movie, go and watch "Super shark" :twilightblush:

I know the happening was one.

368346 already been done
Attack of he Birds from the 70s

368738 You should watch it, its a pretty neat horror comedy
Speaking of which, here is a more recent one

Slither was written and directed by James Gunn who made this too

James was also co-writer and associate director for this Troma "classic"

I can't forgot this childhood classic of mine, which like Super, also has Kevin Bacon in it

Does sitting through Batman and Robin without killing myself count?:rainbowhuh:

Obviously none of you have seen Jack Frost! (The R rated Movie, not the kiddie one) It was full of so many bad one liners, that it was funny. It almost became self aware at one point when everyone is running away from the snowman, and someone is just standing there like an idiot, a woman runs up to him and shouts "Move!!! What are you stupid"

I am shocked and horrified that no one here thought of that movie :pinkiecrazy:

lol, read the bottom. 'Now available on videocassette and laserdisk'. Cracked up laughing.

Really a shame this was the last thing you ever posted a day before you apparently shut the account off..

I really loved that SpikexLuna fic you made there.
