I am sad. I am so very very sad. · 9:54pm Nov 2nd, 2016
For two reasons:
1)
A YouTube personality I really respect and appreciate, DYWTBA_Universe, is struggling with depression and is considering retiring from YouTube for good. Here's his potential final video:
2)
A few years ago, a group called RobotUnderdog2 released a pilot episode for a fan film series called Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope.
Afterwards, they asked the fans for help in funding them so that they could finish the series. At the time, many fans enthusiastically donated money to their site, eager to see more episodes. I didn't because they said they met their quota by the time I found out about it. After meeting their quota, they promised to release Episode 2, and released a trailer for it.
However, after several months and no episode 2, many of the fans have rabidly turned on them, angrily accusing RobotUnderdog2 of scamming them out of their money. While I would like to think it's just a schedule slip, there's the fact that RobotUnderdog2 seems to have stopped commenting or replying to comments for months.
It's sad whichever way this turns out. Either RobotUnderdog2 was pulling a scam all along (if it was a scam, it wouldn't be very smart considering I highly doubt what they got from the fans could generate profit after the cost of those videos), or it was just a schedule slip and the fans have just displayed the darker side of humanity out of impatience.
Yikes.
*Hugs*
And I'm guess it's the latter with Light of Hope. You don't put THAT much effort into a scam. With the sheer effort that'd go into the first episode and the trailer, it just wouldn't make sense.
