From what I gather, the bottom three slots have a pretty high turnover rate, but it's a lot easier to get in them compared to the top seven. So even an underappreciated story like yours can get in the box pretty easily if you've got dedicated readers, but it won't stay for long. I've had pretty much the same experience.
Also... wow, there's five chapters already?
I'm so far behind. Guess I'll have some catching up to do this weekend.

4274449 Huh. That would explain it. As for five chapters, I'm ashamed to admit that a fair portion of that is still setting building. The villains have shown up and the machine has started its motion, but man do I spend a lot of time getting stuff set up.
