Looks like our adventurers have a bit of a dilemma ahead of them. But Midnight is neglecting to mention a third option: abandon Midnight with the lantern and use her as a lure, thus making the rest of the city safer.
Midnight Oil is supposed to be the Unicorn Mare from the campsite. But I suppose it doesn't really matter.

The Talos was an automaton built to defend Europa in Greece from invaders. It circled the island over and over. Being stuck in such a shell would be torture. And when I say carousel I mean something like what you find in a dry cleaning store. So there's this soul, who totally knows what's going on, but is helpless to stop it. The Metalsmith was a real asshole.
