Got a Rage Review · 1:52am Oct 19th, 2016
I requested a Rage Review of this story a few weeks back. Here it is.
An overall positive review. To summarize, it's a short and silly story, and that's its charm.
Getting accused of making up words was somewhat confusing, but not all that expected considering how many people here will just pull things out of their rear ends.
Ribbons!
I got penalized for mistagging it. Which I'll own up to. Honestly, I don't have the most solid idea what these tags are supposed to mean; a lot of it seems very subjective.
The Seal of Derpproval ~ Awarded to stories that are recognized for their pleasant quality, and manage to score below a 30% Rage Level on a review-- that is, stories scoring a 20% or below will be qualified. (An "Ungradeable" or "Too Bored" grade does not count for this award.)
A.K. Yearling Award ~ A special commemoration to authors that manage to take a clichéd premise that would normally fail, and make it work successfully by some original and/or unexpected methods. The opposite award of the Cliché Collage trophy, when tired premises are made cool again.
I was perfectly aware of the cliches as I was writing this story. They're part of the appeal. The initial familiarity makes the twist (the real twist, not the "twist" that Luna curses herself for not anticipating) all the more unexpected, which adds to the comedic effect.
Either this is a fluke, or I might not be as shit at this whole "writing" thing as I suspect I am. For my ego's sake, I'll assume the latter.
