    See you later crocodile

    Hi folks
I'm taking a break. Don't know if it will be definitive or temporary. I won't go into details so here's the summary:

    • I'm tired and busy with way too many projects. I have to stop some of them.
    • I'm tired of how little reactions my stories get.
    • I am disappointed in my current stories on this website.

    Eight crepe-flipping years

    Hey folks

Next week's my birthday. It will also be The Mare in the Warp's anniversary. Eight years. Eight crepe-flipping years since I started working on a personal project to prove to myself that I could write a long story and stick to it and finish it.

My Ponyhammer Headcannon : Unicorns, magic and the Warp I · 11:21pm Oct 10th, 2016

So I took a pause, thought over some things, corrected a few things in my story, learnt to type at a reasonable pace with my new keyboard... so I'm going back to my writing (expect something new for the end of the month). In the meanwhile, I figured I could give some more headcannons about my take on Ponyhammer. Let's talk about magic andunicorns.

In MLP, Magic is everywhere. Most of my favourite headcannons imply that spell casters tap into their inner pool of magical energy to create various reality-bending effects. Magical training involve increasing one's mana pool and make their consumption of magic as efficient as possible. Following this logic, this is one of the reason why Twilight and Starlight are so powerful: they have vast reserve of magical energy and they know perfectly how to use them. Also, magic is not limited to unicorns but only them seem to be able to use it consciously and to a reality shattering scale.

In this aspect, Warhammer is very similar save for two differences. Firstly, Psykers tap into the Warp energies, which is endless, (in most cases). Secondly, their powers come to their ability to gather the energies of the Immaterium without being consummate by them. This is a meaningful difference. A powerful Psyker is not the one who can tap the greatest amount of power but the one who survive the experience.

Combining the two was more easy than I thought. To put it simply, in Ponyhammer, basic unicorn magic use the faintest energies of the Immaterium, barely scrapping the surface. Only the most powerful and gifted of ponies can use more than that, and these ponies are, like in Warhammer, the prey of choice of Daemons. This concern every type of ponies, but unicorns represent more than 98% of possession cases and thus are subjected to more suspicion.

My head-cannon for MLP40K is in agreement with what you've written here. Unicorns are conduits to the immaterium and channel the forces at their own risk. The more power drawn, the greater the risk. But even a "casual" use of this power is a beacon to daemons, so any use is really frowned upon.

But that's just my crazy horse-head-cannon. :pinkiecrazy:

It's coherent with both universe so it's perfect, in my humble opinion ^^
