So, year seven… and some months.

I waited until I'd gotten around to watch the final episodes before thinking about this Yearly Blog Post™ of mine. Then I wrote something in a Google Doc, and never got around to fleshing it out, nor posting. Oh well.

In case that you haven't watched the finale, don’t worry; this blog contains no spoilers, just a vague opinion of mine.

    Yearly blog: Six

    Aaand six.

I missed the date with a few days, dammit.
Regardless, sixth year of pony. Gotta' keep the tradition up!

To be honest, I don't have that much to write this year. I guess I've been falling out a bit; I've not even finished the last season of the show yet.
But, I still visit this site, as well as a few others, daily.

So, I have forgotten which date exactly it was, but it's among some of these days that I can say I've been around pony for four years.
Hm, so; What's new since the last blog?

As far pony goes, not much. Still enjoying the series, even if I'm at least behind on the EQG movie and one episode at this moment (not counting any leaks which I've heard rumors of). The season we are on is going strong, and even if not all episodes are top-of-the-line, they are at least enjoyable. Heck, if all episodes were amazing, I'd be surprised. In other words, pony's ponying on pretty well. :pinkiecrazy:

I found MLP audiobooks. Being able to listen to good fics have been very relaxing. Eternal, a fic I read in my very early days here, has a great reading on that site. It's a great way to multitask when having limited time. However, other days I've manged to just set a day aside for reading. I think I managed nearly 100k words during a sunday a few weekends ago. There's still a lot of great fiction to plow through on this site, and I don't see it stopping in any time soon!

Overall though, there's not much to say.
I am still sticking around, and keeping up with the pones.
Somewhat busy in real life since a few months, but that will hopefully change soon.
Ehrm.
Anyway.
Thanks for passing by this blog, see you around in a year!

Oh, and last but not least; I'll give Sulphur Nimbus (Kickstarter) a shout-out!
What started as a pony game with Rainbow Dash, is turning into an original game with very enjoyable flying physics.
The demo is out, and it already can offer quite a bit of fun.

Let's end this as I did two years ago with some great art from the past year, shall we?

I wonder how you do it. I can't listen to a story I don't know already and do something else at the same time because it's too frustrating for me to miss some elements from the story.

But I didn't know there is a site for fanfic readings. The depth of the fandom is way beyond me. I guess you have quite the explorer personality .

This is true. No way I could listen to a story while doing something which required attention. But, while doing menial tasks, such as dishes, cleaning ... sleeping, it works out pretty well, At least for the foremost two.

I realized I could use something to listen to, went looking for some archive, and found that site. It might not have updated in a while (haven't found any dates), but, well, I haven't listened to any of it, so it works out for me at least.

And, there's so much truth in that the fandom's depth is awe-inspiring. I've mentioned in an earlier blog that the comics, art, games, music, animations, other kinds of videos in this fandom are all amazing. But, there's also some small tidbits that can be found here and there, of very specific sites doing very specific stuff. I mean, have you heard of yayponies? It's a site listing official and some inoffical pony stuff, complete with links for downloads. Or, Ponyvillelive providing players for multiple pony-related online-radio channels. Or, more in tune with this site; FiMFetch, caching the contents of FimFiction, so that e.g. removed stories still can be read. Not sure if the latter one always is good. But, I guess sometime an author decides that they're done with the site, removes everything and leaves. Using FiMFetch, their stories still can be read. Sometimes... Not exactly sure how it works.
:twistnerd:

Heh, sorry for the ramble.
How's things on your end, everything going well?

I actually didn't. Good to know :yay:.

That makes more sense.

Mostly good on my side of things. But I could return the question. You say you've been quite busy lately, so has anything changed? I take it you finished that "college" thing you were talking about last year?

That's good to hear

Well, no, not really.
I try separating pony and non-pony, so I'll try keeping the story short. The school made an attempt to better structure the thesis works of students in mine and similar programmes, so a "leader group" was put in charge. The problem quickly became that the leader group didn't know anything and didn't really want to answer questions, making working with the thesis hard, as there were no clear instructions to what's what. Me and a friend did the work together and are now trying to finish the academical parts (report writing, presentations, etc). We both got employed full time since the summer. In hindsight, that wasn't a good choice. 40 hours normal work and 20+ hours thesis work per week has been pretty standard the last months.
Hopefully, if things go according to plan, it might be over in a week, though.

Sigh, sorry for the rant.
I just wish that the so called "college" would stop throwing crap at us at some point.
:facehoof:

Aside from that, well, as I was assuming a year ago, I have moved from a student apartment into a real one, as well as gotten employed. So that's good.
Change is happening, but it's taken its toll.

At least it seems like a change for the better :raritywink:. Glad to hear it.

Good luck for that one last week. Hope you succeed.
