So, since I have to have something to do instead of housework and writing that I need to get done and Steam is broken for me right now, I'm doing Minecraft again.
Survival Single Player, because I'm so lonely.
Anyways, I started a new map and got pretty lucky — two desert temples and three desert villages, all in the same desert.
Screencap of the auto-mapper UnMined. It has a PNG output function, but for some reason it was producing a gigantic map made up mostly of blank space.

And for a base, I did something I always like doing — converting a generated structure. In this case, the centrally-located desert temple was half in the desert, and half in savanna, so I decided to start working on an oasis. Since I'm in SSP, I turn cheats on sometimes to use commands for certain particularly tedious tasks. Rather than break 300 shovels and picks and spend 40+ hours, I'll just use /fill commands for things like mass landscaping, which is why the building is surrounded by those very artificial-looking terraces. I'm probably going to go back in later and carve them back further manually to give it a more natural look, but for now I want to finish the structure and a road to the villages.
Oh yeah, and I use Chroma Hills resource pack, which is why everything looks awesome.
Front of the upgraded temple. The road to the villages is underway in the foreground, and eventually a wall will be behind it.

Another command I used on this is /clone, mostly to avoid having to duplicate the windows and roof of the tower on the other side.

One of the towers. There are two platforms above this, but I don't have any real use for them yet.

The treasure room as seen from the upper floor. I'm going to be putting a vault and auto-sorter down there eventually.

And the rear. Once I finish building a wall around it, this will be gardens and kept fully-lit.

what's the seed?
