This was another fun one. Mysteries, and deduction, and a bit of silliness. I don't have much to say for the moment, but it was definitely interesting.
—This is the first time in a while Twilight gets to show of her smarts. Love mysteries like these, honestly.:3 It's fun to see how wrong witnesses can be, when it comes to it. It makes me think of what I've been reading about witness psychology. And psychology is one of my favourite subjects, so... Hope they do something like this again.
—I feel this is a good episode to convey a moral about communication. While I did find it a bit off how upset each of them were with each other (especially between AJ and Pinkie, who pretty much consider each other family), it was handled in a much more consistent, tasteful manner than the previous episode that tried such a thing.
—I also liked how things come together with this Rashomon. It's pretty clear that Aj's testimony is the more accurate in terms of certain key events, in particular how the snacks went overboard. Since she tripped and knocked into Rarity, the latter would think she threw them overboard, and Pinkie would think Rarity did. Good logic!
—There's something really weird about AJ being a pirate. One reason being she's definitely not a crook, but also because I didn't know she was this adventurous. Guess there's another reason she gets along with Rainbow.
—That animation is delicious, particularly the side of the ship during the storm, holy crap.
—Of course, Rarity's idea of Pinkie is true to her because she's another sister, as Pinkie's idea of AJ is because she's a possible cousin. The three of them are acting like sisters that are mad at each other,
