Well, I finally got around to watching the last episode of Tokyo Ghoul √A as a way to cleanse my mind after that episode of MLP that freaked me out so much. I know that it sounds like I'm doing things the wrong way around, but there honestly isn't that much gore in the series, and everything about ELTSD rubbed me up the wrong way.
But... that finale. That freaking finale. I can't. The way they performed Unravel so differently, Hide's death, the way that Kaneki's walk down the street watched from a perspective consistently about two metres ahead of him so perfectly matched up with the image sequences accompanying the √A theme song... it was all so good. I'm not usually the kind of person who likes anime. At all. But, this series is probably the best series of anything I've ever watched or read or looked at or been entertained by, ever. It really was.
So, predictably, hype for season three. That is, if it ever comes out.
And, time to give Code Geass a chance.
I promise you'll enjoy Code Geass. Lelouche is one of my favorite anime main characters ever. Side note, supposedly, there's going to be Tokyo Ghoul in the winter anime season this year. Here's hoping.
4233615 I've heard that he's revered as one of the best anime protagonists of all time by many, so I guess I just need to see for myself.
The overuse of commas in that post was due to me having to stop and think every five seconds because that episode weighed so heavily on my mind. I can only assume that every pause became a comma as I was typing.
Also: there are no brakes on the hype train.
4233720 Yeah, He's not your average Protagonist, that's for sure. The word protagonist typically has a positive connotation, which Lelouche does very much not have for a good portion of that anime. He's also one of the few main characters who you can say is cool because they are smarter than strong.
I'm excited to see what these next seasons of anime has in store. Good chances are that Attack on titan and One Punch Man get a second season in winter/spring, which in and of themselves are worth the wait. THE HYPE WILL NEVER DIE!
4233827 Well, I'm definitely more interested in intelligent characters by virtue of the fact that only a ridiculously confusing or emotional plan/plot can keep me occupied for long.
New season of One Punch Man? I am retroactively on board before the day of my own birth. It's actually the first anime that I've ever watched and enjoyed (it's not some kind of great honour - I've only watched two. Dragon Ball doesn't count, despite the fact that I wasted the first five years of my life on it).
I just have one question: would you suggest watching the subbed or dubbed version of Code Geass?
4233850 Both are great, but if you haven't watched a lot of subbed anime, then I would go for the dub 8/10 times. The only thing that I will for sure say always needs to be watched subbed is Kill la Kill and any/every Yugioh Series. Otherwise, If it has a dub, then watch the dub. It's usually a good bet and anime as of late has been really good as far as English dubs go.
4233852 Okay. I'll remember that. Thanks.
