One of my friends tagged me again for the eight facts about your OC meme, so I thought, why not do Halo? Besides Lyric, she is my most beloved MLP OC. So, here we go!

1. Although she is now an alicorn, Halo was born as a pegasus, and she was never a princess.

2. Halo was made an alicorn by Starswirl the Bearded. While on a journey with Starswirl the Bearded, she became concerned for the fates of ponies who had perished in battle against the chaos plaguing Equestria in the time before the Princess' rule. It was at this moment that her cutie mark appeared, showing Starswirl that her purpose was now tied to the souls of the fallen ponies.

3. Halo was well into her teenage years before receiving her cutie mark.

4. The inspiration for Halo to be an alicorn came from the moment when Princess Celestia met Twilight in between worlds before making Twilight a Princess. This showed me that alicorns could exist outside of reality, and Halo's newfound magic would allow her to create a realm where she could watch over the deceased while her immortality would mean that she could do so for eternity.

5. Halo was only meant to be in one story of mine, Guardian Halo, but she has since become a greater part of my headcanon and Lyric's mythos. As of right now, she is in three stories that I have written, and one story by my dear friend Will-Owl-the-Wisp.

6. In one of these stories, Just What I'm Fighting For, I created the character Captain Corona as an intentional foil to Halo. Both are pegasi, and both have met Starswirl, though Halo is fairly innocent at the start of hers and Starswirl's journey while Corona is weary and battle hardened. What was not intentional was the similarity of their names. The definitions of halo are "a disk or circle of light shown surrounding or above the head of a saint or holy person to represent their holiness" and "a circle of white or colored light around the sun, moon, or other luminous body caused by refraction through ice crystals in the atmosphere". Some of the definitions of corona are "a white or colored circle or set of concentric circles of light seen around a luminous body, especially around the sun or moon" and "the upper portion or crown of a part, as of the head".

7. Although Halo's name, appearance, and cutie mark were inspired by angelic themes, this was only meant to make her role easily recognizable. It was not meant as a symbol of any kind.

8. Halo's theme song is Angels Fall by Breaking Benjamin.
