Little Thought For MLP Season 6 Finale (SPOILERS) · 9:35pm Sep 25th, 2016
(SPOILERS FOR SEASON 6 FINALE SYNOPSIS)
So, here’s the deal guys…
The synopsis says that without the help of the Mane 6, Starlight summons an unlikely group of heroes to battle one of Equestria's greatest and oldest foes....
Now, people have theorized that the characters she is going to put together would involve:
Sunburst
Discord
Trixie
Thorax
Dragon Lord Ember
But....I have found one major issue with a theory like that....They don't have the elements of harmony.
Without the elements, it would be suicide going against Equestria's greatest threat. So, my theory is that Twilight has told Starlight about there being alternate versions of their friends in the mirror portal....So, if it's true that Twilight and her friends are going to be kidnapped by this foe, along with the princesses, then it would make sense for Starlight to go to Twilight's journal and send an SOS, thus leading them to going to Equestria. That way, they WOULD have the elements.....
I really hope this is what Hasbro does with the finale. It's the perfect setup.....
it would make sense but it would also make one big mess for a certain bacon haired girl who would have to face her past and deal with what came down with her and Celestia that might cause more trouble than what it is worth.
4226776 That would serve as an obstacle that Sunset would have to face. But have you seen all of the fics dealing with that exact scenario? Of course Celestia would forgive her. Her very first question to Twilight when she got back to Equestria after the events of the first EQG movie was if Sunset was alright.
Sure, Sunset would probably have some internal conflict, but I doubt it would stop her from going to save Twilight and her friends.
Sunset could even have that moment with Celestia at the end of the episode that the whole brony fandom has been waiting so long for.

Because to MY mind, that's just EXACTLY what Hasbro seems to be doing.
Consequently, I am NOT looking forward to this season's finale.

Well, that would officially end all debates about whether or not the movies are canon.
If that does end up happening, then, who knows, maybe the development team will start having Sunset make appearances in the show?

My theory is that they're not from the portal/mirror or the others, but just fucking random characters the creators just pulled out of their asses and basically the main problem is that they're too busy worrying about their own selves and not actually working the problem, and in the end they learn the value of teamwork, yada yada yada, can I have my Oscar now?
4233126 LOL, unfortunately, that probably is what's going to happen...but I mean, there's still the problem of not having the elements.
Even if Starlight's new friends do show the elements' characteristics, they can't replace the original Mane 6. That was proven back in Return of Harmony, when Spike wasn't able to wield Loyalty...And if ya ask me, Spike has done more to deserve that element than Dash has ever done...
If they do end up going the route that they are somehow able to defeat Equestria's greatest threat WITHOUT the elements, then that would null and void the whole point of the elements of harmony...
I'm interested in seeing where Hasbro takes this Finale....
4233189 no offense but this show's going to shit. They've made Rainbow into something that she wasn't, not loyal, and her element is the Element of fucking Loyalty! This is why I keep saying they make a spin-off series of Equestria Girls, because personally I would love more Sunset action that takes place in a high school, give background characters a little more screen time, and give the main characters some love interests! That's what'll probably save the franchise, but hey, since when does Hasbro listen to anything we say, hm?

4233207 I would absolutely LOVE for them to make an Equestria Girls series....But realistically, I don't see Hasbro doing that any time soon...if ever. If they did, don't expect the same animation quality and work that goes into the movies. They spend a year on one hour's worth of movie, as compared to the time they would have for an entire series...On TOP of MLP...If they do ever decide to go ahead with an EQG spin-off, it won't be until FIM has ended. I don't think Hasbro has the time to do both at the same time.

Why them you ask, why give an entire episode focusing on character development to minor characters? So they can use them for a later episode, that's how! *slams fist on table* I MISS PEPE THE FROG!

Season 7 better not be the last season then, because what would the point be in reforming her, and then not having any episodes with her reformed self or anything? That would be disappointing...
2017 is gonna be an epic year though...we get season 7, the MLP movie, AND Hasbro says they're doing 3 specials with EQG....whatever that means...

4245006 I doubt there'll be an EQG movie, on top of the MLP movie...if there is, I'm afraid the animation and storyline will feel rushed.
I think it might be 3 EQG Minisodes that are 22 minutes in length each, like the MLP episodes, and these might build up to an EQG series starting in 2018.
