Year One, Complete · 11:07pm Sep 14th, 2016
It's her birthday. M' daughter is now a year old. Having the party on Saturday.
Already. That didn't take long...at least, it didn't feel long at this end. Or at this end of it.
It's been crazy. A year, already. She's working on coherent words. She's up to seven steps before flopping down on her bum as her current record. She has at least six teeth visible when she opens her mouth, and judging by her insistence on chomping things, more are coming soon. I feed not just from a bottle, but also "goop" as m' wife puts it: fruits and veggies pureed into a consistent but nice-smelling goo. And she returned the favour by sticking her finger in m' mouth (he "garden vegetable" jar of baby food has too much in peas and lima beans as far as I'm concerned). Personality is developing, and she's usually giggly, but she has a temper, and is starting towards the foolhardy fearlessness I had when I was wee. Speaking of, it looks like we may be moving into tantrum territory. And the scariest part: she's learned how to climb stairs, but not how to get back down.
I've been told they grow up fast. Sure didn't feel this fast when I was growing up.
Also, kinda with Calvin's dad from the legendary newspaper comic strip, Calvin and Hobbes, that I wouldn't have been in such a rush to grow up if I knew all the confidence and (seemingly) wise/brilliant decision-making was all ad-libbed.
Wish me luck.
Just remember to give them some discipline when they get too hard headed mate.
Best of luck to you in the future mate, and congratulations.
Cheers!
