I'm going over my friend's old story

She didn't play all the time though. She didn't play all the time though. She still loved to experiment with new elements of magic, perform tests with nature’s various plants and mysterious herbs, and she especially enjoyed studying the magic of friendship. Reading books like the one she had in her hooves was a nice way to pass the time as well. However, what she didn't anticipate today was the cyan, rapid blur of a pegasus dashing through her doors. Literally.
As she burst through the doors, Rainbow Dash, with her slim saddlebags on, shouted out, “Twilight! Twilight! A new game was released today!”

My quick review to my friend Chaotic Note, to present how I feel about this:

MAIN CHARACTER is doing something when LIVING PLOT DEVELOPMENT suddenly interrupts their routine!
"MAIN CHARACTER! MAIN CHARACTER! Come do the THING and ADVANCE THE PLOT. PLOT PLOT PLOT!" they said, while MAIN CHARACTER contemplates ADVANCING THE PLOT.

Story link. He IS revising the early chapters, though. This story's old.
