Music SIG Likes #24 :: Russian Circles · 1:54am Sep 7th, 2016

More of that yummy yummy post-rock instrumetal music!

Russian Circles is one of the big name bands in the Post-Metal genre along with the previously aforementioned Pelican. They tend more towards the blues/rock end of the spectrum (as opposed to the more metal/hard rock sound of Pelican). It still has the heavy post-metal guitars, but the tempo is more...laid back, almost contemplative even. Certainly has a different feel and texture, but an enjoyable listen all the same.

They certainly are a popular favourite at the stations on my end of the production floor.

I'm in love with Russian Circles. Station and Geneva are now high on my go-to writing music list.

Yes indeed.

I think if push came to shove, I would prefer Pelican over Russian Circles; I find their rhythm and pacing more suited for my tastes. Still a good band though.

Station and Geneva are now high on my go-to writing music list.

Is that "Station" and "Geneva" the album, "Station" and "Geneva" the songs, or "yes"?

You may also like Explosions in the Sky.

More of that laid-back post-rock goodness.

4196223 Love Explosions. I've been listening to them before bed for like years now!
