Playlist for "My Little Draconequus: Wishing is Chaos" · 11:15pm Sep 5th, 2016
So sometimes people make these for their stories, and I've been wanting to make one. I don't have a lot, and some of them are simple references to Discord's and Fluttershy's relationship as a whole and not necessarily the story itself. However, the first few really specifically apply to this one.
Now this song is called "Slow Me Down" by Emmy Rossum. Some of you Phantom of the Opera fans may know of her. I never really watched the whole thing, but I discovered this song years ago and when I started writing this story (thinking 'I can finish this in a year EASILY'---HAH, what a fool I was), I listened to it and discovered that this song was perfect. To me, it's from Fluttershy's perspective as a newly-formed Draconequus. I decided long ago that this would be the theme song for this story.
This is the official version of the song:
And this is a beautiful, less echoey and more instrumental version that I just discovered while browsing youtube. I love it, it's more Fluttershy's style. I recommend fast-forwarding to about 0:24 to skip the little interview part.
Okay, next song. This one is the one I imagine as Discord's response to "Slow Me Down", though I obviously mean this metaphorically. Discord ain't much of a singer unless he's decided to poke fun at somepony musically, haha. It's by my favorite favorite FAVORITE band, The Goo Goo Dolls. It's called "Slow It Down". I think it fits, since Fluttershy is in this new body with this crazy magic and she's overwhelmed and over-sensitized by it and needs her noodle boi to help her calm down and focus on....de magicz!
Do I really need to explain why "Strangers Like Me" by Phil Collins fits? Yes, this is Disney. Don't hit me. I love Disney, and honestly, their songs are very story-based, so of course they'd fit. When I listen to this one in regards to my story, I think of their lessons together.
Next is a song that I heard recently, I think through a Fluttercord PMV. I love it. I had to include it, I think it fits them and if it fits them, then it fits this. Especially since Discord depends on her so much, and in my eyes and in this story, she depends on him for quite a few things as well. ESPECIALLY when she's not her original species, hardy har. It's called "What I Believe" by Skillet.
And for now, this last one is yet another Disney song. But this one doesn't really fit this story in particular. Instead, to me, this is Discord's song. And once I write and publish his backstory, it'll make more sense, but honestly, it already does even without it in my eyes. AND WHADDAYA KNOW, John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls sings this! His voice is perfection and I will never tire of it EVER. If you've seen Treasure Planet in full, you've seen this. It's called "I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme)". ...And this song is very dear to my heart, because it really hits me hard. After all, don't we all feel like this at one point or another? I have, more times than I even remember. But to me, this whole song is Discord's life. He's felt this way more than anyone else ever will, in his world.
I may add more in the future, but for now...This is the complete playlist. I hope you enjoy them if you decide to listen to some that you may not have heard of, or some that strike your fancy.
I agree, these do seem to fit the story rather well. I especially loved how well the Tarzan and Treasure Planet nods fit in there.
I'm so excited to listen to them! What an awesome idea!
