Hey all! No real update yet, but I do have something I'd like to discuss.
So, if any of you keeps tabs on either the Features box or good crossover stories, you should know of Tatsurou and his PWNY-verse stories. I've been following him for a while now, and I suggested more than a few ideas and theorized how his stories would go more than once. I also have a sneaking suspicion I may have influenced the ending of The Moon in the Dark with this. Tatsurou isn't telling. *Pouts*
Now, not long ago I suggested an idea for a story to Tatsurou. I thought it was brilliant, and I still do. I presented the idea to him. Everything looked fine. Everything sounded fine. Only...
He didn't know the series that I suggested. What was my suggestion? Starlight Glimmer being raised by Kiritsugu Emiya from Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night.
Think about it! The Nasuverse, the name of the world this series takes place in, has an incredibly well developed magic system. Starlight would also be considered a Phantasmal Beast in this world. That on its own would draw drama, as Phantasmal Beasts are rare magical creatures that Magi, the magic using humans of the world, tend to hunt to extinction for magical ingredients.
Also, being raised by Kiritsugu would mean she would be the sister of Shirou Emiya. Can you imagine how Archer would react when he sees this version of his past self being the younger brother of a pastel colored Pony? I still grin at the thought, nevermind the mad howling laughter that I gave off the first time I thought of that.
Well, as you can imagine, I was bummed when Tatsurou turned down the idea because he didn't know the series. However, I asked for permission, and received it, to write said story as part of the non-canon PWNY-verse.
To be absolutely clear, I have no intention of even starting this yet. I would have to at least finish The Harmony League first before I considered hunkering down and binge watching Fate-Zero and Unlimited Blade Works to start the development stage. But it's an idea I do plan to eventually do.
What I want to know is what you personally think of me one day starting something like this. I know a lot about the Nasuverse, but only in technical details. I know only the bare minimum regarding the storyline, so research and development is going to take up a fair chunk of my time before things start to kick off.
I think that, if you think it's a good idea, I will respect your decision. I know nothing about the series myself (save for what you just now mentioned), but I respect your desire to research this AND to wait until you finish your Harmony League story (that should give you a pretty good amount of additional "think time" to make the story EVEN BETTER). You're a better writer than you think are, even if you don't get as much of a chance to do your writing as you would like.
Like Tatsu I have no plan of this series, but if you make it good and interesting I'm always for it
