The Wandering Bard

"I am a singer, a poet, a musician, a storyteller. I am a bard at heart. That is who I am. That is what I shall always be." (Icon by atokota on FurAffinity)

    Some OC Questions

Hey, all! This is a meme by gilgamemesh I've seen around Tumblr, and since I haven't gotten any asks about it there, I thought I'd post it here! Here's how it works: pick a number or multiple numbers from the list, post it/them in the comments, and in about a week or so (depending on how many asks I get), I'll post a follow-up blog about it! And if two people ask about the same number, that's

Lyric and Kubo (No Movie Spoilers) · 12:38am Aug 26th, 2016

Hello, everyone!

A quick update on my computer. I got it back last week, and all seemed well. When running a scan on my own, though, just to be safe, my antivirus program found something. Fortunately, it was gotten rid of quickly, and nothing else has been found as of yet. Still, the video game stream and LPs are put on halt until I know with absolute certainty that my computer is clean. I'll be keeping an eye on things over the next few days, and will have it looked at again if necessary.

Now, as to the blog title... I saw Kubo and the Two Strings the other night, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The commercials for it make it seem like it will be some epic adventure, yet it is quite a bit deeper and more heartfelt than that. Sure, the story had some pacing issues, and I feel like some parts could have been slowed down a bit. Yet the payoff was worth it.

But why am I talking about all this here? Well, watching the movie helped me to understand just what it is that my friends and fans see in Lyric, why she is so appealing to them. Her stories have weight to them. They have power. She herself is only a humble mare, yet she speaks of great things, and these stories, whether she is the one who penned them or she is merely passing them along, will live on even after she herself is gone. That is the power of stories. That is the appeal of tales. And that, I think, is the reason people love stories so. They always have, and I sincerely hope that they always will.

And on a less serious side-note, I would now love to have a picture of Lyric dressed up as Kubo. It would fit so well.

Glad to hear that your computer is back:twilightsmile: I hope you don't find any more viruses. And I've actually never seen the movie. I'd like to though. And you are right about the stories:heart: The best stories will always be remembered, and passed on.

And as for the picture, I'd be happy to provide if you like:pinkiehappy: As soon as I remember how to draw again

Haha, that is a really sweet offer, Watercolor. But I don't want to take advantage of your kindness and talent!

And I hope I don't find any more viruses as well. I miss using my computer. But I don't want to start using it and find out that something awful is still in the system. That would really make me panic.

And the movie was wonderful! It just came into theaters, so there's plenty of time to see it!

:rainbowlaugh: You as well, Wisp? Watercolor also offered her talents. But as I said, I would not want to take advantage of your talents and kindness! Especially since you're taking commissions right now!

And I didn't think you had. That one will be quite the sight to see. :rainbowlaugh:

You don't have to worry about taking advantage of me:twilightsmile: I'm always up for requests, or just gifts for my friends:pinkiehappy:

It would make me panic too:twilightoops: Viruses are evil!

I've heard that from a lot of my friends who've seen it. I hope to get some time to watch it soon.

Well, if you find yourself bored one day and decide to draw it, that would be fine. But don't feel like you have to do it. I actually would like to try my hand at it as well!

And yes, yes they are. Especially this one, because of how stubborn it was.

And I hope you can as well!

Glad to hear things are starting to straighten up now mate. And I do hope it'll bring about some good, but, knowing you mate, it most certainly will. :raritywink:

Cheers!

Thank you, my friend, and cheers to you as well!

Hope your computer is clean

OH GOD! *sigh* I predict three more pieces of art for you Bard XD

Yeah, same. I've run a few more scans and nothing has been found, but I'm stil nervous.

:rainbowlaugh: And if you mean the art that Wisp and Watercolor are talking about, Wisp has promised some art in the past that she's going to work on when she has a chance, and I told Watercolor that she doesn't have to do this picture, but if she has time and wishes to, she's more than welcome.

I know the feeling

I didn't mean anyone in particular. Art is drawn to you like a moth to a candle

4175833
Yeah, it's no fun. Fortunately, I ran multiple scans today, and they all came up as clean.

And yeah, it seems to be. :rainbowlaugh: But for the most part, the art from DeviantArt was from me commissioning the artists or winning raffles/giveaways. I've pretty much stopped doing both, at least for the moment.

Good to hear, how are you BTW?

I think you have more than enough art for a bit X3

4176587
Doing quite well, thank you! How about you?

And yeah, I agree. XD

Good to hear, pretty eh, truth be told.
