Maybe Strawberry? It would create some interesting tension between Hector and the Waffle's, possibly with Maple becoming hostile and blaming Hector. My other guess would be Beanie, but I think that would be too obvious as a first kill, and he probably has an important part to play before he goes out. I've been dying for the next part of this; I was so happy to see this update
One thing I can tell you is that somepony that you have already met will die in the next chapter. Clever reasoning but you haven't nailed who it is just yet!
