In which Spike understands that his worth as a person and a hero as to be acknowledged by first of all himself. It's no mystery that Spike's achievements during the show are getting more and more impressive even if he's always the lovable goofball and young, accident prone, hero we know and love. This was an episode that sheed some light over some Changeling Lore and I think it was fascinating: The normal changeling is not a mindless drone even if their primal appetite for love is a pretty strong motivator for obeying, in Thorax's own words, an evil Queen. The episode had some tropes from classic monster fiction like Frankenstein (Seriously, we didn't have the angry mob but the guards were the enxt best thing) or any kind of vampire (except Twilight because it's bad and I don't want to apologize about it). Thorax is a pretty flat character all in all but the novelty of being the first good Changeling is enough. This also gives us some pretty serious foreshadowing about the season finale: The Changelings think that FLurry Heart looks delicious. Which is pretty creppy. Now, Spike screwed up in some epic ways: We've seen that before. The fact that he is willing to change and own his mistakes is what makes him endearing to us. In fact, I think there is a pretty big parallel about this episode and Twilight befriending a villain like Starlight Glimmer. That's a feat worthy of the assistant of the Princess of Friendship and Hero of the Crystal Empire. Carry on, my wayward dragon-

Also, I thought it was a heart warming episode with Spike befriending Thorax. You think Chrissy is gonna be in this finale, too? She's already been in two other finales.

Well she is one of the few actual villains left in this show sadly. Unless they make a new villain (which of course they can) they have a very small stable to work with.

It would be if they wanted to make more adventure based stories (and with the Guardians of Harmony line you would think they would) but sadly adventure stories have not been very common. I like Slice of Life but I miss some of those adventure type stories.
