2016-2017 Sophomore Year in HS · 10:05pm Aug 17th, 2016
School began on Monday, August 15th. which means that I, Feather Flyer, your humble 15 year old fanficin', Sunset shippin' "pegasister", will be busy with school. This year, I'll be taking junior classes and one senior class: Physics. You might be thinking that it doesn't make sense since I'm only in the 10th grade, but when you work hard and the counselors find out, they make your life busier by advancing you a year ahead. Not only am I not taking any 10th grade classes at all, I'm also going to be starting my college courses on August 25th.
College courses, guys! I'm taking high school classes a year or two ahead and going to college this year!
The reason why I'm telling you all this is because the updates to the story are going to be farther and farther apart. I wish it wasn't that way but this is how it is unfortunately. I hope you all will stick around and wait for the upcoming chapters because I'm not through with it just yet! I won't stop until it's finished.
Have a nice day, people.
Oh, hey. Long time no see.
4155205 Hey, little man. How are you?
4155240
Good, good. How was your summer?
4155241 It was alright. Yours?
4155243
It was alright.
4155245 That's good. Did school start for you yet?
4155268
No, but I start in a week. You?
College already? Jeezus I swear in a few years, 12 year olds will be inducted into college regularly.
Holy moly.
Well I hope you do well, I know I loved Physics class when I was in High School.
Hey don't worry about it. I myself officially started full time college at 15, so yeah, don't think you're the only one who had it hard. I'd have graduated college last year if I took a regular course, but I guess that's the life of a VetMed student.
4155269 Read the blog, silly! I'm in school, buds.
4156297 VetMed, huh? I'm aiming to be a Clinical Cytogeneticist. That means that I pretty much look at your DNA and tell you if you have any syndromes, mutations, or traits that can lead to any of your children having birth defects.
I understand, you must be a really hard worker. That's quite commendable
4156727
Veterinary Medicine, a Doctor for pets and animals, if you weren't sure.
Clinical cytogeneticist. . . interesting choice. Yes, I'm familiar with the term, though not a very relevant field in my chosen profession. I'm curious as to what academic path you will have to take to achieve that. Are you going to take the Med-school route or the Biology/Genetics/Cytogenetics route?
4157168 I would like to take the bio/genetics route. I believe, though, that I have to be in med school for some time in order to complete the degree.
4157307
Well that would depend on what you're aiming for. Are you aiming for a doctor who specializes in clinical cytogenetics or are you leaning more towards Academia and Research?
If you're aiming to be a doctor, then of course you'd have to spend time in medschool and take up the required units for cytogenetics.
But if you're doing Academia and Research, you'd probably be taking BS Biology major in genetics or a BS in Organic chemistry , then a MA in cytogenetics.
4157659 I want to do both, but I'll just be a doctor.
4159460
Coming from someone who's already studying to be a doctor, I wish you luck. Becoming a doctor is tough, but I assure you will be rewarding in the end. It's a long, hard road and it should be something that you really want. You can also be in Acad&Research by taking up the MA after your MD, so you can still do both.
4160336 True. I, too, wish you luck on your studies.
