Louisiana Floods Support Numbers · 3:26am Aug 15th, 2016
Hi everyone.
I don't know how many of you live in the state of Louisiana, USA and are affected by the nearly end-of-the-world floods, but I hope everyone is doing okay, as well as your families. There have been several ways to help circulating Tumblr, so considering what happened to me, I'd like to try and support and share them here for any reader interested in helping or whatever they might be able to do.
The Red Cross is taking donations. Or, if you are interested in helping with post-flood disaster assistance, please sign up with Volunteer Louisiana.
If you live in the affected area and are in need of a shelter or know of someone who might, This Link has a list of shelters in Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Iberia, Lafayette, Livingston, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, Vermillion, West Feliciana, and Washington Parishes.
If you are in need of rescue or know someone who is in the following areas:

Please stay safe everyone!!
Thanks for spreading the word, Mono. I just saw the video of a woman and her dog being rescued from her rapidly sinking car in Louisiana, and thought of you and your kitties. Thank goodness for the everyday heroes, your father and brother included, who rise to unexpected challenges and make this world a better place through their selfless compassion.
Thanks for posting this, Monochromatic. Good on ya!
As a NOLA native myself, I know well how Louisianans pull together when disaster like this strikes. But no community can do it alone, and if nothing else, Katrina proved how much good can be done when people respond to a need. For the people of west/sw Louisiana, this is one of those times. So, if you can, please consider chipping in whatever manner suits you best.
keep up the good work.
With all that you have gone through recently, to see you stepping up to the plate in support of others in need...
That is inspirational. Thank you, good Sir. If more in this world would follow your example, then we could see some true miracles happen.
Massive flooding in Louisiana? Jeez, why has this not been on the news?
For someone who actually lives in the States, I'm surprised that you heard about this before I did.
The media in our country is utterly worthless. The people who run and operate them love to cover everything except the things that actually matter these days.
I've been seeing the flooding in Louisiana covered by the news all over here in New Jersey. Awful, awful stuff.
While it does deserve more news coverage, flooding is (unfortunately) very common in the state. I'm still currently living there, as does virtually all of my father's family, and everyone just sort of assumes we'll get at least one or two bad floods a year, at minimum. Thank you for bringing it to attention, though! It costs people and the state an absurd amount of money every year for repairs.
How you're doing well, Mono!
I feel so sorry for all of those poor people.
