Synopsis: All mothers love their children, and all mothers feed their children. Princess Chrysalis and her mother are no different, except that to a changeling, "love" and "food" are the same thing. Well... mostly.
Welcome to the nineteenth episode of our podcast investigating the world of pony fanfics! Them's Writin' Words brings together a group of dramatic readers, voice actors and artists from the MLP fandom to discuss and review a fanfiction chosen by one of us to discuss for your listening pleasure.
Starryflame has watched for years as other bronies take the spotlight again and again on April 1st. This year she is determined to have her moment to shine - if only the other fanfic readers, voice actors and artists of the brony community would let her! When obstacle after obstacle is placed in her way, is she willing to do whatever dark deed and evil magic is necessary to take her rightful
When Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst got married and had a foal, all their friends were elated and doted on the very first foal among them: Luster Dawn. As the little filly grew up, however, she started to realise that being the daughter of two of the most famous ponies in Equestria, and 'niece' of six others, including the Princess of Friendship herself, comes with a LOT of expectations, pressure
As a fan of both Monty Python and Blackadder myself, I can see the influences of both in the story that Skywriter made, and thanks to this video, I just finished reading.
The idea of the entire world CRUMBLING into economic destruction, just because Celestia doesn't like Tea feels like something out of a Monty Python skit, where they had a whole documentary skit devoted to "Storage Jars", while the dialogue itself seems like it would fit right into a comedy akin to Blackadder or anything with Rowan Atkinson. It also kind of takes a bit of cues of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, citing random facts and sources, and how simple things can be blown COMPLETELY out of portion.
I will be sorry to admit however, as this is just a personal preference, but written comedy on a page doesn't really clench me in terms of humor. I'm more of a visual person when it comes to comedy, such as the stylings of the Three Stooges, Rowan Atkinson's physical comedy, and even hearing the rantings and ravings of Ghost from True Capitalist Radio to really get me laughing. This is by NO means a fault of Skywriter, but just my personal preference.
HOWEVER, if this fic were transitioned into an Audio reading *NUDGE NUDGE SCRIBBLER *, I have NO doubt that I will be laughing my head off the entire time. This dialogue, when put into the voices of the characters would make it OH SO much more funny.
And again, thank you Scribbler for introducing this excellent piece of the fandom to me. ONE MORE FIC UNTO THE BREACH!
Glad to see this finally posted! Thanks to all of you for your opinions and insights.

Very nice, the both of them. :) Although the fic reviewed... never found it funny. Sorry.
Thank you! That was really awesome of you to do. Always a pleasant surprise. You do such a great job with readings.
