War Anthologies Part 1 - The First Alicorn War - The Wrath Of Grogar. · 1:24pm Aug 9th, 2016
For many millenniums one of the four continents called Epona, was ruled by alicorns. They ruled the land in peace and harmony. However a hundred thousand years ago two great ryu dragons arrived in the land. Dracos Ryulong and his younger brother Crescent Ryulong. They came to warn the alicorns of the arrival of the demigod of darkness and space, Emperor Grogar.
They claimed that he had slaughtered their species, that they were the last of their kind. The two brothers came in contact with the oldest of the alicorns, King Heavonos Nighsky. He knew of the legends surrounding Grogar. He listened to their warnings and prepared for war.
However how would they defeat this great evil. King Heavonos's eldest son Emerald Teal proposed searching thru the legends and seeing if there was a weakness to Emperor Grogar. They found that Grogar had a brother named Realta, the demigod of light and time.
Emerald Teal and several alicorns went in search for this being. They soon found him, and he granted those who found him the ability to ascend to a greater level then alicorn. He granted those chosen the form of light alicorns. With this new power they felt they would have a chance.
However upon his return Emerald Teal found that his sister Sapphire Amethyst and several other alicorns had been ponynapped by Emperor Grogar. With the help on the ryu brothers, Emerald Teal and his own brother Helios Quartz launched an invasion on Grogar's great floating castle Tambelon.
After a long battle they stormed into the castle, and they found themselves fighting several of Grogar's best warriors. Soon the Emperor himself showed up. After fighting him long and hard, he revealed to them a great truth, that Dracos and his younger brother Crescent were actually Grogar's sons and that the species they heralded from didn't exist. That in fact to become a light alicorn or dark alicorn meant that they had the blood of said demigod running through them.
This meant that Dracos and his younger brother Crescent and the other dark alicorns could be bent to the Emperor's will. Suddenly Emerald Teal and Helios Quartz found themselves being force to fight their own allies. That in truth, Grogar had used his own children to push a war against his brother Realta, who had remained hidden until now.
Now Reatla himself had to join the battle, by combining his body temporarily with Emerald Teal and with the combined forces of Realta, King Heavonos, Emerald Teal and Helios Quartz, they were able to rip Emperor Grogar of his demigod powers and seal him away in an amulet.
Soon after his defeat the dark alicorns were set free from Tambelon and the great castle destroyed. They found that once the secondary ascend was activated, it would be permanent. Which meant there were now three species of alicorns.
After this, peace once again reigned in the land. After the war, Realta separated himself from Emerald Teal, and Emerald Teal was crown king of the light alicorns. Once the crowning was complete, he took for himself a bride, Chrystal Laylis, and they forged a kingdom in the north called the Crystal Empire.
Dracos Ryulong was crown king of the dark alicorns, however he did not take a bride at the time, though some at the time did notice that Sapphire Amethyst became close to him. Nor did he take a kingdom either.
Many years after the fall of Grogar, Helios Quartz was walking through the ruins of the castle only to find a wounded creature named Redsting Blacklist. He took the creature in and took care of it. The creature soon became the adviser to the crowns.
Peace continued to rein across the land for many millenniums. That is until the Second Alicorn War, and the creation of the changelings......
