Ah, 2011. The summer when I got into the fandom, I absolutely immersed myself in a way I haven't since. (Not that that's completely a bad thing, given how I have much more resposibilities and interests outside Pony) The music, the fanfic (mainly through EQD at the time; I didn't get a FIMFic account until sometime in 2012) and all the copious amounts of fanart. Good times.
Anyway, though this fic is set mid-Season 5 (as that's when I started writing it, shortly before Amending Fences was aired) it is probably the most heavily influenced by the 2011 era of the fandom. What with the Mane 6 finding strangers wandered in from Everfree, a common staple of fanfics from back then, to the cover image that inspired the whole basic premise, this is in some ways a very nostalgic story for me as a writer.
Now, I'll admit that I don't really have this one planned out as thoroughly as most of my others, or even planned out much at all. I have a vague idea of the reason/backstory behind what's happening, and a broad idea of where this is going, but beyond that, I'm pretty much flying by the seat of my pants. I don't see this being too terribly long, though, probably somewhere in the area of six to ten chapters of about the same length as this first one. We'll see how it goes, I guess.
