"The Iron Horse" Updates... Tomorrow, Actually. -_- · 1:36am Aug 2nd, 2016

Sorry for all these posts, folks. I did get the formatting thing solved, but by that time it was quite a bit later than I wanted to post the chapter, and I've also got a blog post to accompany it. This chapter means a lot to me and I don't want to post it under lousy circumstances. So, yeah, I'm very sorry, but I'm delaying it by a day. :fluttershysad:

But it will be up tomorrow afternoon and I think you'll all find it to be worth it.

Special thanks goes out to reader Troublesome Beast, who provided me with the best technique to fix FiMfiction's borking of GDocs formatting. Thanks a lot, pal!

You're quite welcome! Except for the nightmares, sorry about that.

She judges.

Always.

sleep can't hide me it won't hide you it's too late

Hi, Hatsy!

Yeah, believe it or not, I have had this fear of Sperm Whales ever since I was a child; I had just finished reading Moby Dick (at age 7, thank you very much) when my older cousin told me that it was based on a true story of a "rabid baby sperm whale getting launched onto a ship's deck by a random waterspout and eating everyone alive".

The whole "rabid", "waterspout" and "eaten alive" thing no longer plays a factor, but now I have this near-crippling fear of going whale-watching, and a little part of me giggles with relief whenever I hear about the Japanese killing a whale...which is horrible because the Japanese whaling industry is so damn out of control, but the whales, my god, those Satanic whaaaaales...

4127124 That's kinda cute.

But if it makes you feel better, whales have too small a throat to swallow you. The only exception is the sperm whale and that only eats things that are waaaay below the surface of the ocean. In fact, there is no record of a whale ever eating, or even trying to eat, a person.

Well, if that avatar is what somepony sees when Fluttershy uses the Stare, it would explain a lot!

Waiting for the conclusion of the arc!

4127164 I guess in contrast to your reply to the earlier post, you really can wait for it. :ajsmug:

Er, but sorry. :twilightsheepish:

4127178 Fair enough! The quality always compensate it! :yay:

I just hope that Broken Turing can recover better than the Machine had to do...

Ah yes... I only tried out the GoogleDoc importer yesterday for the first time, and immediately decided to instead re-read everything (more like "gloss over", but still) and add the UBB-formatting tags manually instead.

Bleh. :facehoof:

4127146 Well, yeah, now I know that...

But imagine explaining that to an imaginative 7 year old who reads too much in the first place.

Other kids went to the beach and were afraid of sharks.

I went to the beach and was afraid of giant, warm-blooded mammalians named "Dick".

God, Freud would have had a field day...

4127538 The importer was working fine from pretty much when I got here in march until now; not certain what's specifically broken. That said, it has a pretty consistent pattern. Here's the comment I gave my solution for it. Honestly, comparing the work for 2 F&Rs and then just using ctl-key combo rather than hand-coding, to me, still makes it worth it in terms of time saved. Could just be a matter of muscle memory, though.
