    Status update

I've been getting various comments on stories and in PM's from people asking me about the future of stories and whether or not I plan to update things or just generally what the heck is going on, since my stories haven't been updated in like... forever and a half.

So, here's things as they stand.

    Ah, if only...

If only we lived like a hundred or so years in the future, where mankind finally invented devices to record our thoughts straight onto a computer.

"But Aprion, you dastardly daydreaming villain, why do you wish this?" I hear you asking. I shall explain.

    Pony Life

    So....... yeah....

I watched the first episodes of Pony Life. And just as I feared, this crap is just terrible. :pinkiesick:
This is like Friendship is Magic as seen through the eyes of a five year old on crack. Or maybe some extremely bizarre Discord reality. :pinkiecrazy:

I've been sitting here working on the next chapter, and occasionally going through the comments from the last one, and I must admit I am greatly, yet pleasantly surprised with how well it has been received. Because honestly to me the whole thing felt like it was going to bomb spectacularly.

Let me be completely honest here for a second. First, you guys are awesome and I really can't express how glad I am that you enjoy my story. But you guys are also completely merciless when it comes to analysing it and sniffing out mistakes, and then letting me know about it in no uncertain fashion.

With that at the back of my mind, I've been agonising over the darn thing while I was writing it. I mean I know :yay:yay:twilightoops: all about actual court procedure, with the exception of what the average movie shows us. Heck I didn't know what half the stuff was called. I did what research I could, and everytime I wrote something down I had to triple check it to make sure it was actually more or less correct. ( Lest I'd get verbally mauled by someone who actually knows what goes on in a courtroom.) And then I still wasn't sure I was doing it correctly. Plus I had to get the character off the hook in a more or less believable way.

Now I did plan for that in advance to some degree, like any good writer should. But I admit there were a couple of things that I noticed made sense in my head, but once I put them on paper they sounded ridiculous, forcing me to pull a solution out of my :yay:woohoo:twilightoops: on the fly. I guess it helped me expand my improvisational skills a bit, but boy was it nerve wracking. Especially because its time consuming and I do try to keep to my self set deadlines.

So yeah, long story short I was surprised. But in a good way. It left me with that good feeling that makes me wanna write more. I mean I love telling stories. I may not always get it right, but so long as people enjoy it, well, thats what makes it worth the effort. So thankyou guys and gals for taking the time to read my scribbles, and this rant. I'll get back to working on the next chapter.

I'm glad you enjoy writing; you're quite good at it. I must admit, it annoyed me when the judges threw the book at him on the final charge, but that just shows how invested I am in the story. To me, spending time afterwards wondering what happens next is a sign of a good story. :yay:

I look forward to the healing process and making amends with Ponyville. Especially Fluttershy.

Yay for more chapters! :yay:

I'm not particularly well versed in law either, aside from the time I served on a jury (which was an :ajbemused:absolute blast:ajbemused:, mind you), but it was good enough for me. It was very enjoyable, and a lot more exciting than the real thing.

As always, you've got a lot of potential with this story, and I'm looking forward to reading where the story goes from here. Keep on keeping on, Aprion! :rainbowdetermined2:
