Summer Heat · 12:16am Aug 1st, 2016
Texas is a state of pure fire in the summer, usually 100 degree heat everyday. This year isn't so bad thankfully, though I can't stop wishing for the fall. The heat doesn't necessarily bother me, as I've grown accustom to it over the years, more so than other people. However, since I started writing I've noticed I don't particularly like the heat. I think I've finally figured out why.
It's my laptop. The heat of it on my lap causes me to get hotter faster, and so I end up putting it down and going and doing something else. One of the main things I do is take a nap, which usually causes me to waste a few hours. I don't think other people sleep well in the heat, but it causes me to curl up and nap, enjoying the warmth of summer. However, this is really annoying when you're in the middle of writing and all of a sudden - yawn.
I've got to figure out how to write in a different way or place whenever I'm home, as these naps are a huge time waster. I know once autumn comes and the heat dies down, I'll be ramping it up with my writing amount, but for Texas, that's a really long time away. I may have to force myself to use my main PC, rather than my laptop, for writing at home. I wouldn't like it, but it's better than sleeping for four hours after writing three paragraphs.
At least August comes tomorrow, my favourite month. Maybe I'll have something figured out by the end of it.
