You take a deep breath. You can feel the weight of the cave walls closing in on you, almost fighting to stop your breath. Darkness lies ahead, pierced by the light of your lantern and the flash of the blade you were given by the wood cutter. Yet, you have this task, and before you find someone else it might already be too late. You press on against the shadows.

From the distance, you hear cries echoing, ringing about your head. The sounds hit you, and instantly you feel cold. They sound human.

A farmer approaches. The sight of her leaves you frozen in shock. Her overalls are splattered with blood, and she carries a lantern, and a blade stained the same. You barely register her similar surprise.

"Why do you have blood on your overalls?"

You manage to sputter out the question, even as a rapid chill runs through your body and you begin to shake.

The farmer gazes at your blade, and at your face, a difficult expression washing over hers. You can see her grip tightening.

"I tried to dodge, but she didn't like my decision."

The farmer seems to hesitate, but makes no movement. Her words don't appear to be a threat, but the answer does not quite ease your mind. You are not satisfied.

"Why do you have a knife?"

"He felt I could have use for it down here. I really appreciate that."

Who is "he?" The woodcutter? You feel sick watching her seemingly calm disposition, as if the precious fluid that must have been spilt somehow did not once belong to another person. You feel the sting of cold once more. Still, you are not satisfied. You don't dare move your feet, nor your eyes, afraid such an action could cost you them.

"I heard moans, what have you done?"

She is silent.

Her eyes close. You notice the hand with the blade fidgeting, closing and opening, as though something is itching. She seems uncertain, you notice. What for?

"She was already in a lot of pain. If you see her, it's up to you. I couldn't do it."

Her eyes open, and she looks straight at you. Neither of you move a muscle as the cold air of the cave beats against both of you. For now, silence reigns. What will you do?

Let her pass? Or attack?

So, I was in the mood for this kind of thing. Either way, tomorrow I'll be leaving for Denmark, which could mean lessened activity online, in case any of ya were wondering where I'd be. Though I'll try to be with you still. At least I shouldn't miss the next episode.

My prose based on a little game called Moirai.

Would you let her pass? :3

All right, just curious.:raritywink:

Moirai... that means fate in another language, right?

As for the decision... I don't let her pass, but I don't attack. In this scenario, both options can only hurt that person...

Yup, and fair answer, though it's not one of the options.:3

Then, I attack. I'd rather the blood be on my hands... save my victim from whatever regret they may face...

I just played the game, and...
I certainly love the end mechanic... beautiful.

Interesting choice there.:raritywink: Well, as you know, it's your turn now.
For the record, Lauren, the person who met with me in this scenario, let me pass by without a fuzz.

My turn indeed. I took my turn.
