We Lost a Dog · 8:14pm Jul 23rd, 2016
This morning, my dad took one of our dogs, and older minpin named Nikki, to the vet. Lately she'd been having a problem where she'd eat, but would still lose weight to the point where she was skeletal. My mom had already warned us that there was a chance that she'd have to be put down, but suppose it hits home pretty hard when the worst case scenario actually happens.
When I left my room after getting ready for the day, I could hear my sister crying and when I went to inquire why that's when I got the bad news. Nikki was in diabetic crisis and the only option for her was to let her go. So we all went to the vet to say our tearful goodbyes and take some last pictures to remember her by. Afterwards, we all went to I-Hops for breakfast then returned home.
All in all, it was an emotional morning and I hope I haven't brought any of you down with my news. I hope you all had a better morning than I have.

My condolences. We were forced to put down one of our dogs last week. Not happy to see her go, either.
4194845 It'll be okay. I'm a religious person, so I know that our pets are in a better place and that we'll see them again one day. Now I'm not trying to force my beliefs on you, whatever you choose to believe is all your choice, I'm simply telling you that it is one way that we cope with the loss of our loved ones and it is not perfect. We still miss our little family members. A year or two back, we lost a cat.
I particularly loved that cat, he was shy but he was also affectionate towards me. I remember sitting on a chair or couch with him getting cozy on my lap as he purred up a storm. Towards the end, I couldn't sit down without him jumping into my lap and when we found him, he was dead under my bed. Luckily, we didn't find him because of any sort of smell, my sister just spotted him when she came downstairs to ask if I'd checked beneath my bed and there he was. I kinda went upstairs and wouldn't look at him.
4195274 Poor kitty. One of our dogs curled up in a favorite place when she passed. Alas, I was at college and couldn't be there for her when she passed.
And yeah, I do hope that if there's a heaven, beloved pets will be there waiting for us.
4196098 Yeah. Nothing much for me to say except my condolences for your own loss.
4196114 Thank you.
4196203 No problem.
It's never easy to let a brother. or sister go like that. You help raise them and then you have to let them go......is sad, really sad
4290319 Yeah. Though technically we didn't have her since she was a puppy, she was still a part of the family and I miss her. We got a cast of her paw print and her ashes though so at least she's still kinda with us.
